Very well packed for shipping, CD's are in excellant shape: huzzah to the seller! And yes, we have have heard the songs and while Todd's recordings are grand, I prefer him best live and this CD set is proof. Todd is in great voice. If you love Todd, and don't already have it, I think you will truly enjoy this set. Can't wait to seem him again! June 2022

I have been a long ,Long time Todd fan. I have this album on vinyl, and decided to order the CD version as an early Birthday present to my self.
After waiting a couple of weeks, It arrived. to my disappointment, It was only ONE Disc. There was no mention of getting one Disc out of Two in the item description. very disappointed in the seller.
will not be purchasing anything g from that entity again.

I've always thought Todd Rundgren was one of the most under-rated musicians of the 70's. He should have got so much more respect than he did. This live album's version of the songs are better than the studio version (I've got his discography as well). I've seen Rundgren live, and this album captures the vibe of his show well. It's a great song set. The musicianship is excellent. I would put "Back to the Bars" in my top 10 best album list.

Got a sealed Rhino reissue of this live Todd double from this Amazon affiliate. Good deal for a good price, although the album itself could benefit from being remixed some day.

Have this one on vinyl (still do) but no record player so it has been a long time since I have heard it. Still like the sound of vynel better but the album is fantastic either way. Been trying to turn my younger friends on to Todd but I'm not sure they appreciate the artistry that is Todd.

Todd's Highlight der Spätsiebziger
Reviewed in Germany on August 22, 2013
Mir gefällt Back to the Bars unglaublich gut, die Songs sind grundverschieden, da aus ganz unterschiedlichen Schaffensperioden. Produktion ist dem "Back to the Bars"-Feeling angepasst, also etwas rau, nicht zu glatt.

A Master At Work
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 10, 2015
Having had this set on vinyl way back when - having misguidedly sold it with the rest of my vinyl slightly less way back - and now having it back in the fold on CD, all I can say it is a fabulous addition to any TR collection. In my very humble opinion, it ranks as probably the best, most representative live recording of the artist, tortured or otherwise. The sound quality is great, the choice of songs broad and the musicianship - well, it goes without saying. I thought, and still do think. that 'Hermit...' was a fantastic album and as these concerts are from the same era, the man was in tremendous form. Thankfully, we are spoilt for choice with Todd releases, new and old, but if you are dipping your toe in the water, do give this one a try. At a very reasonable price, it provides a fascinating and rewarding insight into a musician who can move between ballads, hard rock, power pop, soul and psychedelica with ease and real credibility. And with a huge sense of humour, which makes it so much more accessible. I don't know about the eccentric tag, but this set will probably have you reaching for the 'genius' and 'master' superlatives.
