Paid over £4,000 for seats for 20th anniversary holiday of a lifetime only to discover they would split my wife and I up to sit serparately for 11 hour flight. Apparently we should have paid another £480 so that they could sit us next to each other. Utterly disgusted. We complained and were offered a discount on our next flight! Paid exorbitant price for an upper class ticket. Chose my seat when I booked. 2A - near the front away from the bar. Come to check in and my seat’s by the bathroom *and* the bar. I called to straighten it out — and they told me to pound sand. The computer reallocated the seats and there was nothing they could do.…

Never again! If you want to have a business class experience never fly Virgin Upper Class. Not only is it shambolic but even if they had not over booked the flight, offered me a seat that needed manually cranking in to a bed for an overnight flight and then failed to make their own seat “crank” in to a bed, the service is so far below that offered by business class for BA and others that it is to be avoided at all costs. I frequently fly long haul for work and found every thing about the experience from the lounge (minimal and just low rent), to the on board food (again, just low quality, minimal choice and poorly executed) to the service (cannot work the chairs, overbooked the flight and nothing worked: mechanics, wifi, in-seat charging. It is, at best premium economy at business prices. Not worth it and all round extremely disappointing!…

We bought tickets for this flight from Delta which for some reason meant we could not book vegetarian meals. Virgin said goto Delta and Delta said go to Virgin. So no meal booked. Fight arrived early which was a bonus. Food was decidedly sub-par, verging on the bad. The mid-flight iced lolly was horrible The in-flight entertainment was not great, compared to what you get on Emirates or Qatar. Hosties were pleasant and seat was comfortable enough. Still, we got there with no dramas.…

Air hostesses are funny characters they might as well be called - air hostiles. I was on a flight from New York to london, I was knackered. I had a blanket over my head the entire trip in order to solidify my sleep. Throughout my journey the ladies wouldn’t let me rest, often interrupting me. This became hugely irritating and when the plane landed, two ladies had the nerve to talk trash about me as I was leaving the plane. Luckily for me i have extraordinarily good sense of hearing, I know when people are talking about me behind my back. They were British too which makes this experience even more unfortunate. I still feel disgruntled to this day. Lack of professionalism is a huge deal for me. They failed in fulfilling their roles. They need to retrain. Under no circumstances do you ever mistreat a passenger just because he’s black, extremely tired and travelling alone.…
