Ayesha Taika is a former Indian actress, who has appeared in Bollywood films. She made her debut in Taarzan: The Wonder Car and she won the Filmfare Best Debut Award in 2004 for this movie. Her notable movies include Dor (2006), for which she won the Screen Award for Best Actress (Critics), and Wanted (2009). She began her career as a model when she was 15, appearing in the “I am a Complan Boy! I’m a Complan Girl!” campaign and also in Falguni Pahtak’s “Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye” music video. Ayesh Takia was born on 10 April 1986, in Mumbai to a Gujarati Hindu Father and Muslim mother. She did her schooling at St Anthony’s Girls High School, Chembur. She is an Anglo Indian. She began her career as a model when she was 15. She won the Filmfare Best Debut Award in 2004 for her performance in the film. Then she appeared in a number of films which did poorly at the box office. She was highly praised for her work in the 2006 Dor, a smaller budget film in which she plays the role of young widowed Rajasthani women in the living traditional joint family. She also appeared in the Telugu film Super in 2005. Ayesh Takia’s most recent hit was Prabhu Deva’s Wanted, starring Salman Khan, which is one of the biggest blockbusters.
