When an innocent Sister’s of Charity Nun is sent to the great southwest of 1872 armed with only her faith and a warning about the dangers of cowboys, she confronts gunslingers, sin- ners and even Billy The Kid as she does the work of sharing God and caring for the less for- tunate.
Plot
A young female Italian immigrant, Maria Rosa Segale receives the ultimate calling to serve God. Her innocent and devoted life is interrupted to accept an assignment in the developing Southwest Territories. Our protagonist is naive to the dangers she would encounter but ex- cited about the missionary work with her fellow Sisters of Charity. Sister Blandina quickly finds herself in the middle of the violent and untamed territories off the dangerous Santa Fe Trail. Cowboy, outlaws, and evils characters confront her ideals and force her to stay strong in her faith against the temptations of the world. Her commitment to serve all humanity including the immigrants, native Americans and the innocent orphan children is constantly challenged. Living through daily raids by “Indians” and stagecoach robberies, she continues to fight back and stand against government corruption along the Santa Fe Trail. Sister Blandina recognized the dignity in all humans, and during her 90 years of life, she helped build churches, schools and hospitals in the American west.

Servant of God Sister Blandina Segale spent most of her life in Cincinnati but the Archdiocese of Santa Fe claims her as its own, too, and took the action that led to the opening of her cause for sainthood in 2014. Her adventures are legendary and the subject of comic books and television shows. Now, her journey along the Santa Fe Trail may be part of her path to sainthood.
