Ashley Young mocked the protests of Nottingham Forest with a not-so-subtle social media post on Monday morning.
The Everton star was at the centre of controversy as Forest issued an extraordinary public complaint over what it viewed as a failure to award three penalties in its defeat at Goodison Park on Sunday.
Young was involved in all three incidents - all of which saw referee Anthony Taylor dismissed the claims of the away team.

The Forest outburst - the club issued a public statement questioning the integrity of the Premier League refereeing body and the appointment of Stuart Attwell as the VAR for the game - has since been slammed by pundits, former officials and ex-pros. Former top flight referee Peter Walton described the post as shameful and called for an emergency Premier League meeting and for FA disciplinary action to be swift, decisive and strong enough to be an effective deterrent against similar reactions.
Young was accused of a foul on Gio Reyna in the first half, a handball when a Callum Hudson-Odoi cross struck his arm just before the break and a foul on Hudson-Odoi in the second half. While there has been an acceptance the club may have been unfortunate, several influential voices have backed the decisions not to award a penalty for any of the decisions.
Young, meanwhile, opted for his own response. As controversy swirled he took to X, formerly Twitter, where he shared a screengrab of Justin Timberlake’s album Justified with the hit track ‘Cry Me a River’ shown as playing. He simply captioned the post: “Old Skool Tunes For Today”. Two ‘winking’ emojis accompanied the words.
