Better known as Hendry’s Beach, Arroyo Burro Beach Park is a great place to walk, sun, swim and relax. You can run or hike a long way on the beach, especially traveling west. If you have a dog, the east portion of the beach, across from Arroyo Burro Creek, is off-leash, and there are self-serve dog wash stations. For swimmers and surfers, there are outdoor showers for people, too.
In addition to the beach, the park includes an estuary and interpretive signage about the importance of watershed resources and restoration.
With soemthing for everyone, this beach consistently wins the Best Beach and Dog Park Award in the Santa Barbara Independent’s "Best of Santa Barbara" Readers Poll.

The South Coast Watershed Resource Center is located here, and in addition to watershed education, the Center sponsors monthly beach clean-ups.
There are several current and past important watershed and bank stabilizations projects associated with improving the water quality of Arroyo Burro Creek. If you are planning on hiking the beach, it is best to do so during low tides.
Here is helpful tide information.
