Some exciting changes are afoot at Arnold House School in St John’s Wood. Following The Hall School‘s move from 4+ and 5+ admission to 4+ admission only, it was a matter of time before Arnold House would change its admissions process, but they have gone further than we expected and moved to 3+ admission entirely. The school has also appointed a new Head, please see below for both announcements:
3+ Admission
“In September 2021, Arnold House will expand their early years provision by launching a Reception class (4+) and a Pre-Reception class (3+), thus becoming an Independent School for boys aged 3 through to 13. In order to facilitate this expansion, the Governors have acquired the freehold ownership of The Huxley Building, 38 Marlborough Place, just a few minutes’ walk from the existing school site in Loudoun Road. In September 2021, The Huxley Building will be open its doors to the Pre-Reception and Reception year groups. However, planning is also underway for many of the exciting spaces within The Huxley Building that will enhance the learning facilities for Arnold House boys in all year groups with a focus on innovation and future skills.”
New Head Appointment
“The Board of Governors, have great pleasure in announcing the appointment of Mr Giles Tollit to the post of Head of Arnold House School with effect from 1st September 2021. Giles is succeeding Viv Thomas, who retires at the end of the Summer Term after fifteen years of exceptional service to the School.
Giles is currently in his tenth year as the Headmaster of Horris Hill, a leading boys boarding prep school in Newbury, Berkshire. Since joining the School in 2011, Giles has been instrumental in developing the School’s reputation for outstanding pastoral care and academic excellence.
On accepting his appointment, Giles has said:
“I am delighted to be moving to Arnold House in September and to be asked to continue the school’s tradition of providing an outstanding education for boys during their most formative years. With the addition of Huxley’s, it is an exciting time for Arnold House and I am very much looking forward to leading the school community, which so warmly supports the boys’ successes.”
