Sean Dyche shares what Arnaut Danjuma told him just before he walked in for his press conference today

It’s fair to say that Arnaut Danjuma’s time at Everton so far has not exactly gone to plan.

The winger arrived at Goodison Park with much fan fare, as Everton finally secured the Dutchman at the second attempt.

However, he has failed to have any sort of real impact at Everton so far, and currently sits on the sidelines after suffering an injury issue.

It seems that Danjuma remains in good spirits though, and according to Sean Dyche his return to action may not be too far away.

All the eyes were on Dyche as he entered the press conference today, with many awaiting his thoughts on the points reduction.

Having expressed his delight at the four-point boost, Dyche issued an update on the injury front ahead of Saturday’s clash.

On Danjuma, the former Burnley manager said: “Arnuat’s doing well with his ankle but it’s obviously a longer-term situation but he’s doing really well, I just spoke to him actually just before I came in and he’s in a good place and with that side of things and going well.”

Arnaut Danjuma’s imminent return a huge boost

Danjuma’s return will be a huge boost for Everton and it will provide Dyche with some much-needed depth in the forward line.

Everton’s goalscoring woes have been evident this term and the division’s third-lowest scorers must find a resolution.

Given Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto are both misfiring, perhaps Danjuma may find himself thrust straight into action upon his return.

The six-cap Netherlands international has struggled to cement a place in Everton’s team this season but could be given a second chance.

Danjuma scored 16 goals – six of those in the Champions League – whilst laying on four assists for Villarreal during the 2021/22 campaign, which evinces just how prolific he can be when on form.

So Everton will be hopeful he can rediscover that golden touch as we enter the final stages of the season.

Until then, Dyche must devise a plan to end his side’s troubles in front of goal, and perhaps a change of formation is required.

The Toffees boss should consider starting Youssef Chermiti against West Ham this weekend. The under-21 Portugal international netted a brace against in a reserve game earlier this week.
