- ccriderYVRVancouver, Canada3,610 contributionsWe never miss a visit to Beacon Hill park when we are in Victoria. It’s a great place to walk about and also encounter peacocks, ducks, owls and lots of squirrels.
Spring time is beautiful with all of the flowers and trees blossoming.
You can connect to the beach and walk and explore for some time if you want.Written April 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Good fun but energetic and not for the fat boys
Our guide, Chloe, was very competent and good fun.

Beware, when it comes back in it goes fast! :)Written August 11, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Conveniently close to the major highway, the forest is beautiful and so are the falls. Almost no elevation change if that's a concern.
The main issue for me is that the metal stairs and suspension bridge are incredibly slippery when it's raining. My hiking boots have great grips for mud and dirt, but there was no grip at all to be had on the wet steel. Hang onto those railings tights as you go down!
There is currently major construction work taking place involving the nearby dam, so it's not quite as scenic and peaceful in parts as it might otherwise be, but there are really only a couple of very short stretches where it's intrusive.Written April 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots of people, lots of dogs on a hot day!Written August 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- 5footerVictoria, Canada18 contributionsWhat a beautiful spot for our Family Photo Shoot. There were 18 of us, including 8 children ranging from 9 to 1 year old. The kids had a blast playing in the sand and on the rope swing. There is a covered gazebo just before you head down to the beach where we had a picnic. Beautiful sceneryWritten August 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Jawsome Sauce6 contributionsThe bluff and cliffs were really cool, the trees were very tall and i found some great rocks on the beach. The ground was pretty flat and not tiring to walk on. I had a very good time.Written July 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- CdnMinkManitoba, Canada145 contributionsAlthough not a major attraction tourist wise, this walk through the forest and along the river provides another delicious taste of Van Is outdoors. It doesn't take long when you have other goodies to see but it certainly gives one a good look at some rapids and falls (subdued at present by lower flows)and geology as well as a taste of rainforest along with a bit of exercise. Well worth a couple hrs of a nature lovers time.Written September 24, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - L0d0London292 contributionsPleasant, long shingle beach that is easy to reach from the car park.
Good picnic area and toilets.
Could be windy. Great views across the channel to the American coast.Written June 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It doesn't even matter what time of year it is. I love spending time at the beach or walking the board walk, taking my nieces to the playground or water park, seeing the sand castle competition in the summer. In the summer time they have car shows and festivals, volleyball tournaments, food trucks.Written February 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ccriderYVRVancouver, Canada3,610 contributionsIt’s not a huge mountain and there are 2 peaks, one is called Little Doug. We approached from the south which has more of rugged, steep incline. Enough to break a sweat.
When you get up, you get a nice clear view of Victoria and surrounding area. Great view and close to the city.
You can pick your path coming down and there is a trail that goes around so you can get back to where you started.
