About Us

Archbishop Stepinac High School was founded in 1948, through the efforts of 48 Catholic parishes in Westchester County under the leadership of our patron, Archbishop Francis Cardinal Spellman and named after Aloysius Cardinal Stepinac of Zagreb, Croatia. The school has provided a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum, grounded in Roman Catholic values and traditions, for over 70 years. Until September 1, 2009 Stepinac was part of the Archdiocese of New York’s Catholic High School Association. In the fall of 2009 Stepinac was granted local autonomy and is governed by an independent school board of trustees.

As a standard bearer in curriculum innovation, Archbishop Stepinac High School provides young men with a highly competitive academic program that leverages our blended learning platforms and project-based learning pedagogy to equip students with skills to become globally competitive. The school, located 30 miles north of New York City, draws students from Westchester, Bronx, Manhattan, Rockland and Putnam Counties. The population is approximately 800 male students in grades 9 through 12. Each trimester is twelve weeks in length. However, there are certain senior elective courses that run on a semester basis.

Accredited by the Middle States Association of College and Secondary Schools, Archbishop Stepinac High School offers a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum. Enrollment in honors and Advanced Placement courses is based upon the recommendation of teacher, department chairperson, and school counselor. AP exams are a mandatory requirement to successfully complete the course. The school also participates in the AP Capstone Diploma program.

Archbishop Stepinac is among the first schools in the nation to use all digital texts. Each course is blended with interactive technology platforms: REVEL, MyMathLab, Mastering Science, MyLitLab, MyHistoryLab, and MyLanguage Lab, among others. All students use Microsoft OneNote digital notebook and Google Classroom. Our blended learning program has received recognition from Rice University. In addition, the school was awarded the Executive Leadership Award from Fordham University Graduate School of Education for its outstanding STEAM program.

The school also boasts a championship interscholastic sports program, an award winning arts program, many additional clubs and activities, and a campus ministry program.
