Arcadia High School is a great academic public high school with lots of academic clubs but there is very little school spirit. The school has a lot of clubs that recieve high achievements but there isn't much recognition for these groups. The school overall is good but it is amazing for academics if that is your focus.
Your grades will be very dependent on the teachers you get. A smart student at this school may struggle with a difficult teacher, while someone who puts no effort into school may do better in a subject just because they have an easier teacher. The math and English departments are the most out of tune with each other. Some english teacher are extremely difficult and assign a lot of reading, while some of the english teachers do not even give tests. Same goes with math, many of the teachers are extremely difficult and don't explain well while some of the teachers go through the chapters very slowly and have easy tests.
This school has lots of great academic opportunities, however the culture around this can be extremely competitive and overly cutthroat.
Overall, the school is relatively nice, especially compared to the schools in the surrounding areas.
I honestly had a really great time at Arcadia High School. They make extracurricular activities very involving and I met my best friends through my extracurricular. I was a part of the theatre program, and it is extremely state of the art when it is compared to any other public high school around. I learned so much, made meaningful connections with my peers and with my teachers, and I felt more than prepared to enter college life upon graduating.
My experience at this school was very positive, I think even more positive than average as I’ve avoided some of the rumored happenings. Generally speaking, teachers are very helpful and want you to succeed. Academics and college readiness are quite prominent in student culture in my experience alone. The campus and facilities are extremely adequate and the janitorial staff work hard to keep the school sanitary. We have a lot of resources like technology: Chromebooks and tech personnel. Mental health is continuously promoted to students, there are events and time when the mental health counselor will speak to us. College counselors keep in touch with us periodically throughout our high school years to make sure we’re on track to graduate and prepare us for college applications. Overall, this is a very nice school to attend.
Enjoyed how big the school was, which meant no hierarchy or "populars" who dominated the school. College counselors were there with resources if you wanted them. It was easy to get involved. Some teachers were not the best at teaching, but most cared about their students' success.
Arcadia high school is a relatively good public school with an adequate amount of resources that prepares high school students in college. However, there seems to be a toxic culture in this school. As someone who moved to Arcadia from China in my high school years, I felt like I was never able to mix in this community. Half of the school population is either Chinese or Taiwanese descendants, but apparently these Asian American students look down on students like me who are immigrants and speak English with an unavoidable accent.
Arcadia is a community that receives a vast amount of immigration relocation from all of the world, being its location in Los Angeles. However, it seems like it is difficult for immigrants' children to survive in this school. I rarely met anyone in school who is willing to be my friend or listen to my stories. I eventually made some friends after reinventing myself, which was a complete blood bath. This unwelcoming culture to outsiders is suffocating!

Over all the school was a great experience. Most teachers did a great job and was very supportive throughout the school year.
I'm a senior taking in a great educational journey with the wonderful environment of the school. The teachers are not only educators but caring mentors, offering support, and the wide array of courses caters to diverse interests. The strong sense of community among students has led to the formation of great friendships created through clubs and sports. The vibrant extracurricular landscape, spanning sports, arts, and service clubs, enriches our experience, while counselors provide invaluable guidance as we navigate the path toward college. Arcadia High is more than a school; it's a dynamic hub of growth, learning, and preparation for the future.
Academic achievement, satisfying extracurricular activity, and great social relationships can all be used to describe a positive high school experience. Arcadia High School gave me the opportunity to have this experience. There are many difficult courses to choose from, as well as opportunities. I'm really glad I can participate in clubs because they are a significant part of the Arcadia High School experience. The atmosphere of content competition is the unpleasant aspect of the encounter. There are so many excellent students around you that it can be challenging to compete. Even for college, many kids who attend this institution hardly ever get financial help or the college of their dreams. If given the chance to apply for a scholarship, I'll make the effort worthwhile. I think many people's attitudes are preoccupied with GPA and grades rather than life experiences, I would like to see a change in the competitive environment.
Arcadia High School is an academically competitive school and I feel that the students push each other to do their best regards of academics. The teachers put in a lot of effort and take time out of their day in order to run little group studies during lunch as well as provide free programs for tutoring. I do however feel like there could be a little more positivity towards not doing well in a class. When students feel like they have a "B" or a "C" in a class they think they're not smart enough for it or maybe the class is just too rigorous for them and they can't handle it so I would like to see more more supportiveness in that area.
People are all really friendly, if you find the right people, they can be family. The school facility is outstanding with the goal to keep doing better. The constant stride to improve is what makes Arcadia High School unique and an amazing school to raise great young minds.
I met a lot of new people there. The students there were friendly, and the staff were super helpful. I like a school that is academically rigorous. Arcadia high school happen to be one.
Currently enrolled at AHS; the campus is very open, so it's great for those who hate long windy corridors. The teachers are great at their jobs, the clubs and other student organizations are very well organized, the counseling department as well as the College and Career Center are immensely helpful and will listen to all your questions. The Performing Arts Center is absolutely phenomenal, and the Band and other music programs are as well. The sports teams are really advanced, and are absolutely no joke to tryout for.
I enjoyed the extracurricular activities and the attentiveness those teachers had and their knowledge of the subjects. A majority of the academic teachers were also good, though some beg to differ. Along side that, the campus was beautiful and modern.
Arcadia is very inclusive. There are many clubs to choose from. The classes are very well taught, though some better than others. Some less occupied classes have less fortunate curriculums required. It is also very competitive compared to other local schools.
