I came here almost every day just to walk through these amazing Redwoods and the peace and quiet beauty that lay ahead - trails well marked and I felt safe. So close to town and such a special place - make sure you go. Even if you are challenged with walking the drive through is worth it! Plenty of spots to turn around!

We went to Seacliff State Beach. It was a nice day and the ocean was beautiful. The wooden pier has further deteriorated and one can no longer walk out on it to see the birds. Also, the sidewalk area is blocked, so people have to walk in the same area as the cars which drive in and out of the park. So its somewhat a mess. Once at your table, etc. its still fun. Its just not the same though. Dogs like to go for walks there too.

We went to Manresa State Beach on a gorgeous day. The ocean was very pretty. One walks down the stairs from the parking area to the beach. Its nice to walk there. There are places for picnics, beach play and more.

Amazing outdoor space to enjoy great conversation and even better wine. The server was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. A great representation of Santa Cruz mountain pinot!

This is by far the most beautiful, tranquil, and secluded winery we've ever visited. Tasting wines from grapes that are growing just mere feet from you is a cool experience. We loved being able to bring a couple pizzas with us from a local pizzeria and sit outside under mature shade trees on a perfectly warm evening. All of the wines we tried were fantastic, most especially the estate pinot noir varietals.

Sorry, the pier is no more and what is left of the Palo Alto is no longer accessible. Recent storms...

I went to the free Aptos History Museum. Its next to the Aptos Chamber of Commerce. The museum, while small, has lots of interesting exhibits, pictures, and things to see.
It is a good place to learn about Aptos History.

This is a dynamic church where the services are contemporary and casual. With Covid-19 restrictions, reservations are required however they are live streaming their services.

I have been avoiding Cabrillo Stage for a few years for no particular reason. Last night I saw RENT. Oh my god. You should try to see this before it closes on July 15th. If for no other reason than this: Joey Pisacane in the role of Roger the songwriter is a wonder to see and hear. Absolutely perfect in every respect. His acting is superb, honest, not overplayed even in the loudest scenes. His singing is off the charts. He's everything you want in the role: a wounded, reticent, unwilling to commit, HIV+ struggling artist who falls in love without wanting to, while grappling with a single great song he's trying to write. The other principals are quite good, but none as magnificent as this stellar performer. Hats off to Cabrillo Stage for assembling a topnotch cast and producing with ferocity one of the great musicals of our time. It teaches us compassion for the sick, destitute and homeless, it asks us to resist corporate hegemony with community action, and reaffirms the significance of art as political action.
