I would like to see more focus on student activities outside of classes. For example, special events like tournaments of a certain sport, or things like Senior Olympics, but open to more grades.
I have gone to Apopka High since I was a freshman. I am part of the wonderful medical program there and that is the best part of my school experience. The magnet program becomes a second home with the teachers and students, that you basically grow with. Also, the school spirit is one of the most amazing things about Apopka. We have many games, from tons of different sports and do a lot of pep rally’s that get all students involved. One thing that always scares me about my school experience is how many lockdowns and threats that we have there, it always leaves us on edge. One thing I wish was changed was how the administrators run the school due to the lack of communication with students on some issues, like lockdowns where we don’t know if it’s real or not. Overall, my high school experience has been a positive one, besides the communication issues.
Apopka Highschool is an Okay school, It's not terrible but it's also not the best, there are safety concerns to be had with close calls and often holds but students have never been severely harmed here. The education program can be pretty good depending on what classes you take and the college and career section does well preparing you for graduation however a lot of resources are there but kind of hidden from those who don't go searching for them.
