Anya Taylor-Joy is chic in a double-breasted black coat and print scarf during a Manhattan coffee break... but it's her STUDDED boots that grab the eye

Anya Taylor-Joy was seen walking alone down a street in mid-town Manhattan on Wednesday as she carried a cup of iced coffee.

The Queen's Gambit actress - who was raised in Argentina before she moved to England - was nicely attired in a black double breasted coat with a matching black-and-white print scarf tucked in.

The highlight of the star's look was her black and silver studded cowgirl boots that looked like she was up for fun.

The versatile star had her long blonde hair pulled back into a maroon scrunchie as she added black cat-eye sunglasses.

The Florida born looker also had her mask pulled below her chin so she could sip her coffee.

The coat stood out because it had generous lapel with a tied belt and the hem was just above her knee.

She added black jeans that were tucked into those head-turning boots that had studs on the front as well as up the middle to the top of the boot.

And there were a few studs on the heel as well.

This sighting comes after she said she has learned a lot about life through chess.

The 24-year-old actress - who portrayed chess champion Beth Harmon in The Queen's Gambit - thinks the game is a 'beautiful metaphor' because of it's elements of attack, defense, and working together collectively.

Speaking to reporters via Zoom after winning the Critics' Choice Award for Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie Made for Television in March, she said when asked what chess had taught her about life: 'It's such a beautiful metaphor. I guess that you can have a plan but you have to be able to adapt, you have to be able to pivot.

'It's important to attack but also to defend, and you have to learn when to do both.

'And you need all the pieces on the board. It's not just the queen roaming around. You need every single one of them.'

The program was also named Best Limited Series at the ceremony, and Anya again addressed calls for a second season of the show, insisting that it was always intended to be a one off.

However, admitting it is 'incredibly flattering' that people have called for more episodes, she also suggested it shouldn't be ruled out completely.

She said: 'It is obviously incredibly flattering that people want to spend more time with characters that we care so much about and that we poured so much love into, but we did intend it to be a limited series, so we were all quite surprised when people started asking for season two. That being said, never say never.'

And she also said she 'would jump at the chance' to make a second series of The Queen's Gambit.

She said: 'Not to disappoint anybody, but we just never thought about it. It was always a sapling to tree transition. You see her grow, you leave her in a good place. So we were genuinely surprised when people were like, 'Where's season two?''

Anya admitted she'd like to make another series of the show after loving her time on set.

The actress told Entertainment Tonight: 'I adore the entire team that made it and I would jump at the chance to work with them again.'

She explained: 'One of my favourite things about her was because she was raised in this interesting way, she never really saw her gender as something that told her what she could or couldn't want. And I really enjoyed playing that, especially in the context of the '60s.

'So I think more than playing a strong woman, I feel very honoured to have played such an interesting, complex person. And I'm very proud of that.'
