Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga has been explaining that he’s got a bizarre injury – although it won’t stop him from playing.

The Reds winger is now on international duty with Sweden and on Saturday as Forest played Luton he was sporting a new bandage.

Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga confirms he’s injured

Well, it might sound like a case of it never rains it pours. However, Forest fans shouldn’t panic too much here and Elanga won’t need to spend any time on the sidelines.

It sounds as though the injury came when Forest lost 1-0 to Brighton earlier this month. The Reds winger didn’t even start that particular game but did manage to bizarrely pick up a problem.

Forest speedster Elanga told Fotbollskanalen: “I know it’s a strange thing to say, but I didn’t feel anything. I have broken my ring finger.

“I did it against Brighton. After the game, I saw that it was a bit big. I asked our doctor and he said ‘I think you’ve broken it’. To be fair, I was shocked, but it didn’t hurt so I thought it was nothing.”

Elanga has new manager to try and impress

The 21-year-old Forest winger goes off on international duty looking to impress new Sweden manager Jon Dahl Tomasson over the next fortnight.

Elanga has been in fine form this season for Forest. Despite only signing in the summer from Manchester United for £15 million, he has 12 goal contributions to his name, scoring five times and claiming seven assists.

In 13 caps for the national team, Elanga has scored three goals and the Forest star will be hoping to feature from the start more often than he did under Janne Andersson.

Forest desperately need Elanga to be fit and firing for the remainder of the campaign. As a result, it’s good news that he won’t miss any game time through this latest injury issue.
