Madonna Shares Video of Son David Banda Impersonating Freddie Mercury

Given his mother Madonna's decades-long career as one of pop's most successful figures, it's little wonder that David Banda has a penchant for performing.

In a new video shared by Madonna on Instagram over the weekend, the 15-year-old was seen channeling late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury as he sang along to the band's enduring hit "Another One Bites the Dust."

To add to the authenticity of his performance, the teen emulated the legendary musician by donning a jeweled armband, a bracelet and a wig.

Clutching a microphone, David kicked off his performance by standing with his back to the camera, before spinning around and confidently putting on his best dance moves while belting out small portions of the lyrics.

He appeared to be in his element as he danced his way around the family living room, where pictures of Madonna and her children were seen in the background.

Letting the footage speak for itself, Madonna—who is currently working on a new album—captioned the video: "Another One Bites the Dust.............. #freddiemercury #davidbanda."

The post attracted praise from a large number of Madonna's followers, while some commented that David didn't appear to know the lyrics of the classic track, which was released back in 1980.

Precocious David often appears on his mother's social media page showcasing his performance skills, particularly dancing.

Late last month, Madonna, 62, took to the image-sharing platform to post video footage of David modeling a white silk Mae Couture dress.

While David was shown saying that he found the experience "freeing," mother-of-six Madonna gushed in her caption that "confidence is everything."

Michigan-born Madonna adopted David from Malawi in south-eastern Africa in 2006 when he was 13 months old.

She has previously admitted that she has the most in common with David out of all of her children, telling British Vogue in a 2019 interview: "What he has more than anything is focus and determination. I'm pretty sure he got it from me."

The pop icon continued: "I feel like he gets me; he has more of my DNA than any of my children so far. Let's see what happens—it's still early days for everyone."

Madonna is also mother to daughter Lourdes Leon, 24, from her relationship with Carlos Leon, and to son Rocco Ritchie, from her marriage to filmmaker Guy Ritchie.

Her other children were also adopted from Malawi—daughter Mercy James, 15, and twins Stella and Estere, eight.
