2-night summer Aspen itinerary

We'll be in Aspen for two nights in mid-August (a Mon-Wed). It's one of three stops on our CO road trip this summer. Our accommodations are the Annabelle Inn. We like hiking (nothing too strenuous), sightseeing, listening to live music, and just relaxing. Here is what I have so far for our agenda. Thoughts? I have not gotten so far as to pick out places to eat dinner or lunch on our second day.

Day 1: We'll be leaving Breckenridge first thing after breakfast to drive to Aspen. I figure we might stop and do a bit of walking/hiking on Independence Pass (have to still research any good stops for pictures/a bit of walking). Get to Aspen by lunch time I'm thinking.

Take the gondola up to the Sundeck to eat lunch and take in the views. I figure by the time we come back down, it's time to check into our inn. Either before or after dinner (restaurant TBD), we might walk a bit on the Rio Grande Trail. My understanding is this is a paved bike path right along a river and might be a leisurely walk in the evening. We also want some time to just enjoy our inn.

Day 2: After breakfast will be our Maroon Bells journey (already have reservations booked).

Come back from MB and find someplace to eat lunch in Aspen. After lunch, while our food digests, wander downtown Aspen popping into stores and just enjoying the ambience. Then maybe early to mid-afternoon head out on our hike of River Run Trail. My understanding is that this is a fairly easy trail but affords beautiful views.

Dinner TBD. Any other suggestions for after-dinner activities this evening?

The next day, we are pretty much just enjoying breakfast and then heading out on our journey to Crested Butte via Kebler Pass. Wish we had more time to explore Aspen but I'm excited to see what we can in our short stay.
