FLASHBACK: Kerber announced her pregnancy on the eve of the 2022 US Open.

Angelique Kerber delighted the tennis world on Tuesday with the news that she and partner Franco Bianco have welcomed first child Liana to their growing family.

The former world No. 1 shared an adorable photo to her official Instagram page, featuring the trio’s hands intertwined.

“Having you with us is the most beautiful & overwhelming feeling we could have ever imagined,” captioned the former world No. 1, who gave birth on February 25.

Kerber has been eagerly anticipating Liana’s arrival since last summer, when she announced her pregnancy to the world on the eve of the 2022 US Open.

“I really wanted to play the @usopen but eventually I decided that two against one just isn‘t a fair competition,” Kerber joked at the time, suggesting she would eventually return to action after becoming a mother.

In the months leading up to Liana’s birth. Kerber shared her pregnancy with fans, including an ethereal photoshoot that showed the three-time Grand Slam champion at her angelic best.

“Patiently waiting,” she wrote two weeks ago.

Kerber’s wait is finally at an end, a new story is about to begin, and tennis fans will be tuning in!
