The Superior Men & A Future Season

Discussion

For those confused about the explanation behind superior men, I do not believe these characters to be wrote out as “normal men with super powers”. I believe the direction Ryan Murphy was intending this part of the plot to hint at was Lizard People. You can see small bits and pieces of this in the last few episodes. Anna’s legs turn into scales like a lizard, Siobhan wears a snake necklace in the car when Anna is concerned about their friendship. The snakes slithering in the intro sequence. The green studded highheels resembling the green color of a lizard (Debatable but makes sense considering EVERYTHING else is red themed to fit the coven, but not the shoes?). Then looking further into the topic, these “superior men” would be men to help overtake regular men but they hide in plain site — CEOs, Celebrities, Presidents, ect.

This was Ryan Murphy’s attempt at bringing the “Lizard People” theory to life on screen… however, it kinda fell apart and missed the mark with the poor acting toward the end and the major plot holes. I would personally had preferred a full straightforward season delving into this theme — HOWEVER, if Ryan Murphy does leave little teasers for future seasons mixed into the show, this may very well BE a future season theme.

I can't with people who believe that Ryan has some kind of a grand plan. He just comes up with shit on the fly.

This. And it goes far beyond just AHS to the point where he's become infamous for coming up with great ideas and never being able to "stick the landing" by the time you reach the end of a season/show because he never thinks far enough ahead and halfway through the process he seems to have lost interest in telling the story and has already moved on to another "great idea."

This is saved for the showdown, lore-wise we already saw Lizards on Death Valley on the White House there was no explanation, so Delicate serves as their origin story.

As powerful men and connected to Satan it makes senses they are the group behind the Cooperative. While the other group of aliens have just found their hybrid the lizard are already among us, with the help of the Delicates . When the Ashley’s said Mary was not their queen it implied they were not human. They give the elite what they want and in turn are pumping lizards to the world.

I don’t think they are meant to be just “witches”

Due to Coven’s popularity, he tried to force the aesthetic of Coven in the season without actually conveying dynamic characters. The most “magic” we see is the mother throwing her daughter in the wall. In reality, the group of women could have been dressed as simple doctors/scientists and not hinder the story. If he wants to write a season as compelling and popular as coven, he is missing the point of why those seasons were so popular. The characters had more dimension, played by seasoned actresses who gave the roles a certain oomph. Here, we have Emma Robert’s whiny character, the typical male husband who cheats and is then cut from the story in the most gruesome manner, and then a bunch of women dressed in weird black clothes playing the exact same monotonous character.

He could have touched more on what made them special. He could have elaborated on why the exwife left, or was even ALLOWED to leave and why they eventually smuggled her and murder her. Instead, the story rushes to the end and the viewer left with not emotional strings tied to any single character at all.

Like, even Siobhan’s death scene was so comedically portrayed it’s meme worthy.
