Robbie Slater has warned Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou not to go to Everton, should an offer arise, with the Socceroos legend insisting that a move to the Premier League club would be a 'huge risk'.
Postecoglou is reportedly among a shortlist of contenders for the Goodison Park post after the Toffees sacked Frank Lampard this week, with the club languishing in the relegation places in England's top flight.
Sportsmail understands that Marcelo Bielsa is Everton's first choice for the vacancy, although the former Leeds boss has reservations about the lack of pace in the first team.

And should the Merseyside club turn their attention to Postecoglou, former Australia star Slater has implored his countryman to reject any advances and believes he is better off staying at Parkhead.
'Ange won't go to Everton,' Slater said via Fox Sports. 'They're a club in crisis. It would be folly of him to go there.
'They are in serious danger of being relegated, it would be a huge risk, and one he doesn't need to take considering the job he has at the moment.'
Postecoglou has enjoyed huge success with the Scottish club, reclaiming the league title last season while they enjoy a healthy lead at the top of the table this season.

The 57-year-old has garnered a very strong relationship with the club's vocal fanbase, and Slater says that Postecoglou should bide his time before moving south.
'He's taken Celtic nine points clear at the top of the table, they're going to win the title again, the fans love him, the players love him, the club loves him … he doesn't need to go to a club like Everton, which keeps changing its manager and has off-field problems as well,' he added.
'Ange is a very good manager and will eventually manage in the (English) Premier League, so he doesn't need to go to a club in turmoil.'
