An Audience With ... Lulu - ITV1

Lulu and the BeeGees star had not performed together for more than quarter of a century, since their acrimonious 1973 divorce after just four years of marriage.

But not only do the pair manage to put aside their past differences for Lulu’s big night, they actually look like they were enjoying themselves, earning riotous applause for their rendition of the classic ballad First of May.

Lulu tells the crowd: ‘It’s amazing what can happen. I said to Maurice, I’d like him to be here tonight and he said ‘When?’ just like that, without hesitating.’

Maurice adds: ‘We would always be singing. We used to sing together on stage, but we haven’t sung together for 27 years and three days and nine minutes and 23 seconds.’

Lulu also joined forces with music legends Sir Elton John and Sting, as well as Enrique Iglesias, Samantha Mumba, Ronan Keating and Russell Watson to sing for the star-studded audience.

But one of the funniest moments of the show is when comic Frank Skinner ‘gatecrashes’ the show, dressed in a frock!

The comedian, clad in a Fifties’-style flowered dress, blonde wig and pink Alice band, joins Pop Idol finalist Jessica Garlick, Tricia Penrose and former Coronation Street actress Jane Danson to form a spoof version of the Lulettes who accompany Lulu on the classic Shout.

As unsuspecting Lulu’s jaw drops, Frank tells her: “I bet it’s just like looking in the mirror when you look at me. It copies your look exactly, even the puppy fat.???
