OM livewire Amine Harit was injured during the last Ligue 1 Uber Eats match before the World Cup break between AS Monaco and Marseille and underwent surgery on his left knee on Thursday. The Moroccan international will miss the upcoming World Cup and be out of action for the rest of the season.

Olympique de Marseille's Moroccan international midfielder Amine Harit underwent surgery on Thursday in Lyon on a severely sprained left knee, and will be out for the rest of the season.

The 25-year-old was injured during Marseille's dramatic 3-2 win at the Stade Louis II in Ligue 1 Uber Eats Round 15 action last Sunday and has had to withdraw from the World Cup, for which he had been called up by Morocco.

On his Instagram account, Harit once again expressed his opinion on Monaco and France defender Axel Disasi, whom he defended.

"I don't blame Axel for a moment," he wrote. "It's an ordinary situation where we both play the ball. There was nothing intentional. What he suffered on social media is unacceptable and I am sorry."
