- Edited 11 months agoWhen beginning a collection, artists like Johnny Cash have such a long and amazing career that it can be overwhelming to decide where to start collecting. These 7 albums are so well organized. These albums were done in the final years of his life, so most of the songs are slower and take on a really soulful tone. Quiet a few surprises with rock covers and unlikely duets; a la: Joe Strummer of The Clash for a Bob Marley cover of Redemption Song. I was lucky, i think I acquired the last box set available on ElusiveDisc.com.
- Edited one year agoWas trying to track down all the Chris Bellman mastered pressings from the series and then I found out about this box set in 2022 well since out of print. Tracked down and paid dearly for a sealed box. Will be one of my most prized possessions. Music is impeccable, historic. Recording and Chris Bellman mastering are perfect and dead quite pressings.
- Awesome recording! Music is fantastic, obviously, and this pressing puts it all in front of you in such a beautiful way.
- There are only six records, not seven as shown in Discogs. Unless I'm missing something or losing it.
- Hi - this boxset is quite impressive. I am generally not interested in box sets and I even have 2 of these titles in different format. However, I love vinyl & Cash - and decided to pop for this. The packaging is very strong, and the vinyls themselves even more so. I find many 180gram pressings to be roughcut, unfinished, but these 7 vinyls are finished to precision and the labels are placed perfectly and have strong aesthetics. Lastly, the sound is crystal with superior staging and depth. Impressive from end-to-end.
