Will Ferrell to join hands with American Hustle helmer David O. Russell?

Actor Will Ferrell is in talks to collaborate with five-time Oscar nominee David O. Russell for an upcoming film titled Madden. Hails from Amazon/MGM, the film tells the story of John Madden, one of the larger-than-life personalities in the American football league. 

According to Deadline, Russel had been overseen a script written by Cambron Clark till the writer’s strike. Produced by Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jonathan Shukat, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch, the Prime Video original follows the life of John Madden and the origins of the Maden Video game. 

Meanwhile, Will Ferrell has recently been seen in the Apple TV series' Spirited and The Shrink Next Door. The actor will next be seen in  Greta Gerwig-directed Warner Bros pic Barbie. Ferrell has recently produced Searchlight’s comedy Theater Camp and Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore starrer May December. 

David O. Russell has recently announced his next with  Keke Palmer and Sacha Baron Cohen, titled Super Toys. The filmmaker is  best known for  his Oscar-nominated pics The Fighter (2010), Silver Linings Playbook (2012), American Hustle(2013) and Joy (2015)
