The trouble I'm having with this, is if Danny was in his last year of High School in 1998 and he was 18 years old, and the family dinner with the father scene happened in 1990 just two years before the Rodney King riots when Derek was already a Nazi (with his Dad also dying in between this time), then that means little brother Danny is only ten years old during the family dinner scene.
Also to consider is Derek's age, and the age he was when starting a gang with Cameron, called the Disciples of Christ. I'd be surprised if he was any younger than 18 years old when this happened.

I know most people are 18 during their last year of high school, but there are a good amount of folks who aren't, as well, I was graduated from HS for 5 months when I turned 18. Maybe Derek had a fall birthday.
