Amanda Kloots is ‘dating again’ one year after losing husband Nick Cordero to COVID

Amanda Kloots is “dating again” following the 2020 death of her husband, Broadway star Nick Cordero, from COVID-19 complications.

“Both of my husbands, I met doing Broadway shows. We became friends first, then we got married. Obviously with Nick, we had a child,” she explained on Friday’s episode of “The Talk.” “I’ve never actually had to date.”

Kloots was previously married to stage actor David Larsen. She and Cordero tied the knot in 2017.

“I just started dating again and it is so crazy to be dating for the first time at 39 years old,” she went on. “And it’s quite terrifying and really out of your element, and it’s just hard. It is hard.”

Even still, the television host has enjoyed dipping her toes into the dating pool, adding, “It’s all wonderful. It’s wonderful people I’m meeting, and it’s been a great process so far. But I’ll just say it’s very hard without getting into too many details.”

Cordero died July 2020 at the age of 41 after a months-long battle with coronavirus complications. While hospitalized, the thespian suffered mini-strokes, lung infections and the amputation of one of his legs.

A day after Cordero’s passing, professional dancer Kloots shared a touching slideshow of their family, titling the clip “Silver Linings.”

“I have always been lucky to have a family that loves to be together and to support each other,” she captioned the video at the time. “I’m even luckier to have Nicks family and extended family that are the same.”

“In times of trauma, look for the silver linings,” Kloots added. “Spend time with family. Smile through the tears. Have faith when things seem impossible. Love one another.”

Kloots and Cordero share son Elvis, who was just 11 months old when his father passed away.
