A resident of Nice from 2007 to 2009, Vincent Hognon will be in the spotlight this Sunday at the Allianz Riviera, ahead of the match against Nantes.
The former defender (39 matches, 3 goals), who also played for Nancy and Saint-Etienne, got a head start: he came to visit the Gym employees this Thursday. The opportunity to discuss, with the ex-Grenoble coach (94 matches between 2021 and 2024), his time on the Côte d’Azur: “OGC Nice has an important place in my career, it is here that I ended my playing career. I am very happy with the two years spent here”. Having already come to Allianz Riviera as coach of Metz, Vincent Hognon will live a unique experience: “It was another stadium, but it’s an excellent move by OGC Nice to honor its alumni. I thank Virginie and the whole team, it warms my heart. I will meet a lot of familiar faces, including my “little one”, Julien Sablé (laughs) “.
Before hitting the pitch, the technician will meet the supporters at the Café des Aiglons (from 1:30 p.m.). The opportunity to recall some memories: “Like many people, my most memorable moment was this goal in Marseille (0-2) after so many years without winning at the Vélodrome. It was a goal that counted, I remember the emotion of the people of Nice after this success. We had an experienced team, the group was perhaps too small to last the end of the season, but we had a great team, which corresponded quite well to what the Nice public expected.”
