Known for what must be the cheapest and cheesiest of the indie film world, Troma films takes on Cannes with gallons of fake blood, the Tronettes, and numerous hijinks by an uncontrollable group of volunteer Troma fans, costumed, naked, and did I mention covered with blood? While any publicity is good publicity, the low budget Troma films must wonder what this will do to their reputation. And I think they're thinking, woohoo!

Fuck, man. What an emotional roller coaster this was for me. Did not see that coming. Not at all an endorsement, you should know by now if you're the type of person who needs to see this.
First observation: Smart of Lloyd to turn this trip into a documentary, although it does seem as though some of his educational "Make Your Own Damn Movie" type of material is a bit redundant. Still, I found it somewhat informative if not a bit discouraging. I'll NEVER be the type of person who can hustle to sell anything, least of all, my own shit.

CUT TO: A drunk Tromette blathering on about art, and artistic integrity, and for some reason, envelopes. While naked. In public.
LLOYD: “lndependent cinema is dying. What happened to loyalty?”
CUT TO: Two drunken Troma employees fistfighting on a dock in front of potential buyers.
God, I love Troma.
These weird Troma filmmakers may be my idols. Also, Quentin Tarantino is such a cool guy wow.
When Quentin Tarantino comes across as the nicest person in your whole movie, I think you have a problem.
A terrible introduction for me to Troma cinema, everyone seems like terrible people.
Lloyd Kaufman’s documentary about his Cannes Festival hustle feels more like a low grade YouTuber’s vlog than a real documentary. The lighting is terrible, the budget is sub-zero and the prime export is obnoxiousness. Even for Troma, there’s a lot of grossness. A lot of this behavior wouldn’t even fly in the Jake Paul era, and especially after the MeToo movement. The whole “disruption as promotion” thing was big in the Jackass era, but none of this felt really fun. Just kind of a bummer.
Nonetheless, Lloyd carries the whole thing and shows us the real experience for all the it’s business and self sabotage. It’s weird to see Troma perpetuating its own sort of fucked up attitude. Hopefully all this has changed in the 20 plus years since this was made. Fortunately, the edits are still pretty funny; and the combo of the latter two elements makes this worth a watch. Just be warned, this is pretty rough stuff.
I'd only ever seen about 20 minutes of this crazy, fun filled documentary until now and I have to admit, it made me want to get drunk and run down the street waving my semi-erect penis at passersby. Shouting 'Troma, obviously.
I may have exaggerated that last part but honestly, 'All the Love You Cannes' really did raise my respect for Llyod and his gang of misfit volunteers. One of the main selling points for me was how he (Kaufman) was basically at the festival to find distribution for his movies to other countries.
