Flowers of Time is a chick-flick film that stars Charlton Heston (as the father) and Ethan Hawke (as the son, Nathaniel). It was seen in "Chasing Bobby".

The Flowers of Time

The film is rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America, however Peggy rates it "PG-12", giving permission for Bobby and Connie to watch the film. When Hank agreed to see a movie with the group, he assumed it was understood that he meant "not a ladies' picture".

Hank, Peggy, Bobby, Connie, Dale and Nancy saw this film at Heimlich 18, a movie theater located in Arlen, Texas. According to Peggy, this is the third time the two starred in a movie together, the first two went straight-to-video. Peggy believes the movie is good enough to have been based on a novel.

A commercial advertising the film was shown, saying that Channel 84 had endorsed it as "a fragrant bouquet of human emotions".

Plot[]

The movie takes place on a rose farm, where two elegantly dressed women on horseback were shown riding past. The only scene that was shown had an elderly man (Charlton Heston) who was stuck under a tractor with his son, Nathaniel (Ethan Hawke) by his side. Nathaniel states that the only thing keeping the elderly man alive is the pressure from the tractor. The elderly man responds, "son, I never really got around to saying a lot of things" and that he won't make it to harvest this year. As the elderly man is dying, he states he is proud of Nathaniel and that he is his rose. Seeing this, Hank began to cry as the dying old man reminded him of his aging 20-year-old truck that was also dying as it was starting to show it was on its last miles.

Quotes[]

"I'm so proud of you Nathaniel. You... are... my... rose." -The father's last words before being crushed by the tractor.
