AMU Admission process is completely online for all courses. AMU admissions for all courses are based on scores obtained in the entrance examination followed by counseling conducted by the university. Candidates applying for AMU Admissions 2024 can check the step-by-step AMU process given below:

Step 1: Application Form/ Registration 

Candidates seeking admission at AMU must register for the desired program on the official admission portal of AMU @amucontrollerexams.com by paying the one the application fee of INR 700 for most of the courses.

Step 2: Appear for the Entrance Examination

AMU admissions for all courses are based on scores obtained in the national-level examinations such as CUET, NATA, GATE, etc, or entrance examination (AMUEE) conducted by the university. Candidates must appear for the respective entrance examination as per the desired courses. 

Step 3: Counselling

AMU releases various Firm Lists/Merit Lists for all courses based on scores obtained in the entrance examination. The university will then conduct a counselling session for candidates selected in the Firm List/Merit List for seat allocation. During the counselling session, candidates may choose to block their seats to confirm the admission or wait for the next round of counselling for their desired specialization.

Step 4: Physical Reporting and Submission of Admission Fee

Candidates who accepted or blocked their seats during the counselling session are then required to report physically at the allocated department or institute along with the required documents. The admission will be confirmed after submitting all the documents and the admission fee.

AMU Entrance Exam (AMUEE)

Aligarh Muslim University conducts its own entrance exam (AMUEE) for admission to its most of the courses. The university also conducts an engineering examination (AMUEEE) for admission to BTech, B.Arch, and M.Tech programs. AMUEE is usually conducted in May every year. This year admissions will only be offered to those students who qualify AMU Entrance Exam 2024. The AMU entrance exam is conducted once a year at the university level. The test paper for the exam is in English Language and MCQs based. The total duration for the same is 2 hours. After qualifying the entrance exam, candidates will be required to undergo a counselling process. The counseling procedure will begin after the announcement of AMU admission test. Counseling for AMU admission will be done independently based on the candidates’ rankings.

AMU Exam Controller

AMU Cutoff

AMU cutoffs are released based on marks secured in the entrance examination. Some of the factors that will be considered for the preparation of the AMU cutoff are the exam difficulty level, previous years' cutoff trends, total number of qualified candidates, total number of available seats, etc. The cutoff score will be different for every category and course. However, candidates must note that meeting the minimum cutoff score released by the university does not guarantee admission. AMU Distance Education

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) provides distance education through its Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE). AMU CDOE offers various UG, PG, and Diploma courses through a distance mode of learning. Admissions for AMU Distance Education are based on marks secured in the qualifying examination. The university does not conduct any entrance examinations for distance education. Interested students will have to fill up their application form by visiting the official website of the AMU Centre of Distance Education. The campus of AMU is spread over 467.6 hectares (1155 acres) in the city of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. AMU has off-campuses outside Aligarh at Murshidabad, West Bengal state, at Mallapurum, Kerala state, and at Kishanganj, Bihar State. The university also has one primary, seven High schools (including one for the Visually Challenged), and two Senior Secondary schools for boys and girls. Games and sports have been a distinctive feature of the AMU. The Skating and Riding teams have excelled at the inter-university level. Perhaps this is the only University with a Riding Club. The campus also has a cricket ground, Willingdon Pavilion, a synthetic hockey ground, and a park, Gulastan-e-Syed.
