Notables Project
Alexander von Württemberg is Notable.

Alexander Count von Württemberg was born November 5, 1801, and died on July 7, 1844. He was the son of Wilhelm, Duke von Württemberg and Wilhelmine Baroness von Rhodis.

Educated as a soldier, he was a Lieutenant Colonel in the 3rd Württemberg Cavalry Regiment, which was stationed in Esslingen am Neckar. He resided at the Obere Palmsche Palais and had summer residence at Serach.

Suffering from chronic headaches, he moved to Italy in 1843, hoping to improve his health, and then to Wildbad, where died of a stroke.

He was a patron of the arts and Emma Niendorf, Gustav Schwab, Justinus Kerner, Ludwig Uhland, and Hermann Kurz - to so-called Serach Poet Circle - were frequent visitors at his summer residence.
