As the title says.
If I say "alexa turn off the living room lights" she'll say that she's " having trouble connecting to the internet", but she'll execute the command.
Another scenario is I dropped in on my daughter upstairs and when I was finished I said "alexa hang up" she complained she's "having trouble connecting to the internet" but continued to happily still communicate with my daughter, I had to disconnect the power to make it hangup
Any ideas?

Unplug it for about a minute and plug it back it. I have one that does this fairly often.
Maybe not the internet, but the Amazon cloud to respond verbally 🤷
Ours occasionally does that. We re-plug it and it seems to be ok once it's back on.
