Walters had reportedly accused the former child star of “damaging an entire industry” by calling out predators.

Former child actor Corey Feldman recently opened up about a controversial encounter he had with late journalist Barbara Walters over a decade ago on The View.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Feldman expressed his shock over a 2013 clip of his appearance on The View with Barbara Walters, where Feldman discussed the sexual abuse he and his friend Corey Haim faced in Hollywood.

“I'm saying that there are people that were people that did this to both me and Corey, that are still working, they're still out there, and they're some of the richest, most powerful people in this business,” he admitted, adding, “And they do not want me saying what I'm saying right now."

In response, Walters said, “”You’re damaging an entire industry.”

Reflecting on the exchange, Feldman stated, “It very much gave everybody, I think, the feeling that she was either part of it or covering up for it, which is shocking and scary.”

Despite the backlash, he never received an apology from Walters, who passed away in 2022.

Feldman has been vocal about his experiences, even creating a documentary titled “My Truth: The Rape of Two Coreys.” However, the film faced numerous challenges, including hacking and streaming issues.

He sees the success of Investigation Discovery's docuseries Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV as a positive development. The series sheds light on abuse in the industry, featuring testimonies from figures like Drake Bell and is now the subject of a lawsuit filed by former Nickelodeon producer Dan Schneider.

Feldman believes that while his journey has been difficult, there may still be ‘hope,’ “Tides seem to be changing, and the tides seemed to be turning. And hopefully maybe one day somebody will care enough to help me get my story told properly.”
