Arnold Schwarzenegger is back in action with his role as Chief Action Officer at Netflix, and a new video promo reveals things getting a bit awkward during his second day on the job. In the video, Schwarzenegger is riding the elevator when fellow action movie star Chris Hemsworth steps inside. Schwarzenegger says how his new series FUBAR is now streaming on Netflix before offering some ideas for one-liners Hemsworth could incorporate into the Extraction films, given how Extraction 2 is premiering on the streaming service this month. You can watch the new promo below.

Last month, Netflix announced that Schwarzenegger would be serving as the company's Chief Action Officer, given his experience in the action genre. He appeared in a previous promo to announce his new role while teasing what was to come for the genre on Netflix in the coming months, such as Extraction 2 with Hemsworth, Heart of Stone with Gal Gadot, and the third season of The Witcher with Henry Cavill. Schwarzenegger also encouraged fans to check out other popular releases that are currently available to stream, such as the hit series The Night Agent and the new Jennifer Lopez film The Mother.

Extraction 2 brings back Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, serving as a direct sequel to the original film released on Netflix in 2020. Sam Hargrave is also back in the director's chair for the film. In the new movie, Tyler returns to take on a new mission, tasked with rescuing a family being held hostage. The film also stars Golshifteh Farahani, Adam Bessa, Olga Kurylenko, and Tinatin Dalakishvili.

Arnold Is Netflix's Chief Action Officer

“Was it really me driving? Of course it was. I wasn’t going to let someone else have that fun,” Schwarzenegger said of the previous promo, which saw him driving a literal tank. "And yes — it was as easy as it looked.”

Schwarzenegger also revealed that the promo also served as a reunion, as he had previously driven that same tank decades ago. Though the tank had been buried as part of a decommission effort, it was dug up and restored when Schwarzenegger said he wanted it, and he now uses it to help raise money for charity.

“I drove this exact tank when I was an 18-year-old in the Austrian army, and many years later I was fortunate enough to be able to bring it to the US," the Terminator star explained. "So when Netflix wanted to name me as CAO, I jumped at the opportunity to have a little fun with the tank."

On embracing his new role as Netflix's Chief Action Officer, Schwarzenegger added, “I’ve always been passionate about delivering the best action possible, whether it was in my films like Terminator, in my new action comedy FUBAR, or now as the chief action officer. The toughest part is that I love action so much, I want to put it into everything I watch... romantic comedies, stand-up, dramas — all candidates for more explosions in my opinion.”

FUBAR with Schwarzenegger is now streaming on Netflix, while Extraction 2 is set to premiere on June 16, 2023.
