Taco Tuesday was great as usual. Kinzie, our waitress, was very attentive. the wait staff got our rolls to us promptly. Our wine was excellent.

We were a party of four on Date Night. 3 selected steak dinner, I selected the Chicken Piccata with a Cesar salad. In my experience, this dish is typically light and flavorful. This one was not. It was highly salted and dry. I have had many good meals at Jakes, this just was not one of them. Everyone else was very satisfied with the steaks. Shannon was an outstanding server. If you can, Id recommend you ask for seating in her area. She is knowledgeable, efficient and a very pleasant person dedicated to make your experience memorable.

Normally I am very happy with the service. However, this time it took an hour for our food to be delivered. I don't fault the server as much as the kitchen, but not sure where the fault lies. The servers all seem well-trained, and they are courteous and attentive.

Shannon was our server. She is knowledgeable and efficient. The food was good but we were missing some of our favorites. First, they no longer have Lagavulin scotch, in fact they only have one single malt scotch, which is not my favorite but well known. I'd recommend reorder or at least order Talisker. Next, no maple brussel sprouts as a side. We love them, they are no longer. We are year around local residents where many at the Ranch will leave for summer season. Id strongly recommend many food events be organized to attract participation throughout summer season. It takes creative dedication to accomplish this successfully. Its much better in the long run to solidify restaurant success beyond seasonal membership but it takes work. My sense is the present culinary efforts need assistance in this regard. The message we got was the restaurant was "winding down" for summer. Cutting back on staff is exactly what should NOT be the objective, instead, the place should be the "only" place to be dining in summer season. Take the challenge Jakes. Bring it. Organize some awesome culinary events! Expand instead of "wind down". Recognize it will take you some time to build the year around following but when you do you will clean up all year around. Ill be there to enjoy it!

We attended the Lobster Night. It was absolutely outstanding in every respect. Our two lobster tails were really delicious, accompanied by an appetizer cold seafood buffet of shrimp, oysters, salads and much more. The entire staff did a terrific job. You could also trade out the lobster tails for prime rib. Great evening!

Tonight’s meal was great! We didn’t realize it was lobster night until we got there. Was actually looking forward to trying something new from the regular menu. Seafood in Arizona is a challenge. The lobster was good. The prime rib good also, although prime rib is typically not my go to piece of meat. Service was great as usual. Stevie is always attentive and helpful.

We have dined here frequently over the past several years and have always enjoyed it. It appears to have gone down hill in the last year or so. The menu has changed., there are fewer choices of meals. The quality of certain dishes are not as good as they once were. Not sure it will continue to be our favorite place to dine in the future. The chicken piccata was a piece of chicken breast, breaded, and deep fried and sauce ladled on top. Certainly not the chicken piccata I’ve had ever.

As a new resident of a month ago I’m greatly disappointed with the lack of consistency with Jake’s. From the cocktails, wine and food there hasn’t been any. It’s such a beautiful place but there seems to be no leadership for the kitchen or servers. Or for that matter no element present to affect the inconsistency, realizing this is the busy season it won’t matter in the long term. Hoping for some positive change although it seems unlikely, staying hopeful but thinking of staying away.

Our ribs were cold, they forgot our fries, and our server wasn’t anywhere to be found. We still tipped 20% because we love the staff, just really poor service and cold ribs this night!

I live in Wickenburg and I absolutely love going to Jake’s spoon. The food is absolutely awesome. And you have to have the cauliflower you won’t even know it’s cauliflower. Unbelievable.
