Romano claims Liverpool deal for ‘incredible’ ace is cheaper than expected

Liverpool are looking to wrap up a deal for Alexis Mac Allister and it will actually be a little cheaper than first thought.

Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister will cost Liverpool a little less than the expected £70million.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Liverpool are planning to advance their move for Mac Allister this week.

Romano claims that Liverpool want to finalise terms on Mac Allister’s side this week with personal terms almost sorted.

Liverpool would then pay the release clause in Mac Allister’s release clause to lure him to Anfield.

Romano then adds that the release clause is actually less than the £70million widely being reported.

TyC in Mac Allister’s native Argentina reported that Liverpool are paying around £70million but Romano believes the deal will be a touch cheaper.

We can still imagine that Liverpool will have to pay at least £60million for Mac Allister, but they will see it as money well spent.

Alexis Mac Allister could kickstart Liverpool midfield revolution

The changes are already coming to Liverpool’s midfield.

James Milner is moving on – ironically to Brighton and Hove Albion – whilst Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are leaving for free.

The decks are being cleared at Anfield and Mac Allister will be the first of a number of midfield additions.

Hailed as ‘incredible’ by Brighton’s Adam Lallana, Mac Allister will provide guile and real quality on the ball in Liverpool’s engine room.

The Argentinian World Cup winner will be joined by other new faces though and Liverpool are really ramping up their recruitment.

Sport Bild’s Christian Falk reported on Tuesday night that Liverpool have started talks to sign Borussia Monchengladbach ace Manu Kone.

The Frenchman appears to be a top target now and could be joined by a long-time friend.

90Min claim that Liverpool have also started talks to sign Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram, who goes back a long way with Kone to their Boulogne-Billancourt days.

Thuram, Kone and Mac Allister could be Liverpool’s new-look midfield heading into next season with the Reds seemingly making their moves now.
