And today we are invited by the Lord to ask ourselves Where are we hungry of? How hungry are we to his presence And so my dear sisters and brothers, to prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries, let us first acknowledge our sins. Altogether, I confess to almighty god and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done, and in what I have failed to do. Through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault. Therefore, I ask of Blessed Mary, ever Virgin, all the angels and saints, and you, my brothers and sisters to pray for me to the Lord, our God. May almighty God, have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life. Amen. Mercy have mercy have mercy mercy Let us pray. Be present to your family, oh Lord, we pray. And graciously ensure those you have endowed with the grace of faith and eternal share in the resurrection of your only begotten son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit. God forever and ever. Amen. A reading from the Apa Acts of the Apostles. There broke out a severe persecution of the church in Jerusalem. And all were scattered. Throughout the countryside of Judea and Samaria. Except the apostles. Devout men buried Stephen. And made a loud lament over him. Saul meanwhile was trying to destroy the church. Enter house after house and dragging out men and women. He handed it them over for imprisonment. Now those who had been scattered went about preaching the word. Thus, Philip went down to the city of Samaria. And proclaimed the Christ to them. With one accord, the crowds paid attention to what was said by Philip. When they it and saw the signs he was doing. For unclean spirits, crying out in a loud voice, came out of many possessed people, and many paralyzed and crippled people were cured. There was great joy in that city. The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy. Shout joyfully to God all the earth. Sing praise to the glory of his name. Proclaim his glorious praise. Say to God, how tremendous are your deeds. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy. Let all earth, worship, and sing praise to you. Sing praise to your name. Come and see the works of God. His tremendous deeds among the children of Adam. Let all the earth cry out to God with joy. He has changed the sea into dry land. Through the river they pass on foot. Therefore, let us rejoice in him. He rules by his might forever. Let all earth cry out to God with joy. The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John. Glory to you, oh Lord. Jesus said to the crowd, I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never hunger. And whoever believes in me will never thirst. But I told you that although you have seen me, you do not believe. Everything that the father gives me will come to me. And I will not reject anyone who comes to me. Because I came down from heaven, not to do my own will. But the will of the one who sent me. And this is the will of the one who sent me. That I should not lose anything of what he gave me. But that I should raise it on the last day. For this is the will of my father. That everyone who sees the son and believes in him may have eternal life. And I shall raise him on the last day. My dear sisters and brothers, the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ According to the studies, especially for the developmental or development of a child. There is this not so famous saying. The words of this line is deprivation creates hunger. When someone is deprived of something, it creates a hunger. Sometimes emotionally, sometimes physical hunger for this person. Let's take an example. There was a story of an adult man who keep on collecting belts. Mgasintoron. Everywhere he goes, he makes sure that he is bringing a belt or two belts with him once he go home. And he is a traveler. So it means wherever he goes, there is something that or there is a belt that goes home with His wife noticed such obsession to belts. And asked him the reason why he kept on bringing belt when he went home. His answer was growing up he never experienced using a belt. And he always remembered the moment that his belt going to school is a piece of string to hold his pants. So that it will not fall down. And because of that, he promised himself that once he is able, once he can buy the belts that he once dreamed of or deprived of. He will buy them Everything. Deprivation creates anger. In our Gospel today, it is also evident that people are deprived of something. And they are hungry of something. If we are to go back to the past readings, this is the continuation of the miracle work of Jesus when he fed the thousand people. And despite being full of physical food, they are still hungry. But they are not hungry of physical food. As we all know, these people are in that moment of crisis. In their society. These people are hungry of a savior. These people are hungry of comfort. These people are hungry of joy, of someone to guide them. Of a teacher these people are hungry of hope. Therefore, in the latter part of our Gospel today, Jesus identified himself as the bread of life. And such bread that is broken and shared to the people to appease their longing. To appease their sadness. And to lift them up from their suffering. Therefore, in our Gospel today, Jesus filled this spiritual hunger of these people. My dear sisters and brothers, in our current time, in our modern situation, where everything is accessible, where where everything is instant, there is still a lot of hunger that people feel. It may not be physical. But most of the time, emotional and spiritual. An is hungry of rest. Is hungry of being recognized. Is hungry of achievements. A wife or a husband is hungry of affection. Of attention. Or even a child. Or is hungry of comfort from their family. A young boy or a young girl. Is hungry of being recognized. Being included in the church. Or even us, ourselves, are hungry of something My dear sisters and brothers, our Gospel today is reminding us of Jesus's presence that can feel such hunger. And it will begin if we will deepen our relationship with him. Our hunger is always supplied by a God who gives us comfort in the times of sadness. By a God gives us things that we need. That sometimes not about what we want, but what we need. And of a God who is always there to make us feel the redemption and the salvation. That away from our sufferings in life. My dear sisters and brothers, Jesus as the bread of life is inviting us to open our hearts to appease our hungers. But it does not stop there. Just like Jesus, we are invited to share that bread of life as well to other people. To those people whom we know are hungry of attention, hungry of help. And most of all, hungry of love. My dear sisters Brothers, as we continue our celebration let us open our hearts to receive Jesus. Let us obey and let us accept his presence in our life. Let us open ourselves for Jesus to appease our hunger. Amen. Ask for as we in your forgiveness the source you pray my dear sisters and brothers that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the Almighty Father. May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name. For our good and the good of his holy church. Grant we pray, oh Lord, that we may always find delight in this Paschal mysteries. So that the renewal constantly at work within us, may be the cause of our unending joy. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen. The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just. It is truly right and just our duty and our salvation. At all times to acclaim you oh Lord. But in this time above all. To love you yet more gloriously when Christ our Passover has been sacrificed. He never ceas us to offer himself for us but defends us and ever pleads our cause before you. He is the sacrificial victim who dies no more. The lamb once slain, who lives forever. Therefore, overcome with Paschal Joy, every land, every people, exalts in your praise, and even the heavenly powers with angelic hosts. Sing together the unending hymn of your glory as they acclaim honor in You are indeed holy, oh Lord, the fountain of all holiness. Make holy therefore these gifts we pray, by sending down your spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that they may become for us, the body and blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ. At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion, he took bread and giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples saying, take this all of you and eat of it. For this is my body, which will be given up for you. In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice and once more giving thanks. He gave it to his disciples saying, take this all of you and drink from it. For this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me. The mystery of faith. Have Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation. Giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you. Humbly, we pray that partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit. Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of charity Together with Francis, our Pope, and Joel, our bishop, and all the clergy. Remember our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all who have died in your mercy. Welcome them into the light of your faith. Have mercy on us all we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, mother of God, with Saint Joseph, her spouse, with the blessed apostles, and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages, we may Mary to be co heirs to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you, through your son, Jesus Christ Through him and with him and in him. Oh God almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours, forever and ever. Please all arise. At the savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say. For name me not as it is us this day bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass again not into us. Deliver us, Lord, we pray from every evil. Graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin, and save from all distress, as we await the blessed hope, and the coming of our savior, Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles, peace I leave you, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church, and graciously grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever. Amen. The peace of the Lord be with you always. And with your spirit. Let us offer each other the sign of peace. Take away the sins Behold the lamb of God. Behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb. Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed. This spiritual napaki kinabang.
