These days people are just Weak

A long time favorite of mine and one of many great films I didn't helicopter parent my child from. Highly suggest this movie if you actually have a sense of humor & don't just claim to have one. Heck if you take anything from this it should be to be kind to animals or ya know just enjoy the movie

It's just a movie, folks.

Everyone has different tastes in what they watch. If you don't like something, fine, but why slam it? Ace Ventura, to me, is one of the funniest movies, and I'm a teacher with a master's degree who reads classics for FUN. If you have kids, follow the rating system. If you allow your 10 year-old to watch, then you, the parent, made a bad choice. Don't blame the movie. This site is called Common Sense...let's all use some.

Without Carrey, this comedy would add up to a perfect zero. Ace revolves around Carrey's talent for contorting his face. On display, he mugs and writhes incessantly, shamelessly, for his audience. Director Tom Shadyac indulges his antics and butt-cheek ventriloquism, mindful not to put anything in the way -- like a plot -- that might distract from his prize performer. Unfortunately, the talents of Sean Young and Courteney Cox are squandered here. Parents might be misled by the seemingly innocent movie title and should be aware that the bathroom humor and sexual content can be offensive. They should be further warned that dramatic kids might spend days imitating Carrey's wildly exaggerated mannerisms.
