It's only when you hear these three fantastic discs are you reminded just what an astounding artist Little Richard is. Sure the great hits come thick and fast, and they are still as fresh as the day they were recorded. Live he was amazing but in the studio nothing until he came to New Orleans and that changed very quickly indeed. Here as said are the world wide hit singles but alongside that a host of maybe lesser known but great performances covering a whole range of styles, but as a rock n roller he reigned supreme. Not only that voice that wails and drives the music along, but his piano playing is amazing. All in all this quite simply is an amazing set of recordings, and one to get the party going, sorry that's three so you can rock till you drop. Essential if you like great rocking music by one of it's absolute legends, and the sound is superb...go on just get ordering !

There are now so many good quality, cheap compilations of Richard's work out now that it can be quite difficult to decide what to get. Along with "The Original British Hit Singles" from ACE, this 3 disc 52 track set from Big 3 is a must. All original recordings, and some to my amazement I didn't know - "Little Richard's Boogie/Always/Every Hour" and others, tho the majority are the hits and the collector will have them already. To me that doesn't matter - a different track order from other discs, a smattering of the unfamiliar, then the biggies which are pretty well all there. Once again tho, as with most if not all of these compilations,there is the lack of information, but we do get composer and date.this shouldn't put the Richard fan off. A good price and some great songs (what a saxaphone player!!). Highly recomended
