What travelers are saying
- Smiles and MilesKaty, TX26 contributions"WOW" - that was our reaction....we were stunned with the beauty - majesty and scale of the Grand Canyon.
Photos, movies and videos do not do justice to Nature's wonder.
Put this on your bucket list if not.Written May 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My opinion is that you should visit both, then you don't have to wonder whether you made the right decision. Compared to the Lower, the Upper is more of an easy walk, but both of monumental beauty. This activity is really very well organized. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. She also made sure that everyone had nice photos. She knew exactly where to stand and from which angle to take photos. Just great. Thank you very much, it was really nice!Written May 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Have Camera, Will TravelSouth Bend, IN3,571 contributionsHorseshoe Bend was on both my girlfriend's an my own Bucket Lists. We are both avid photographers, so this was one of the big stops on our Las Vegas/Grand Canyon/Zion trip.
As has been mentioned, there is a $10 parking fee to get in, which is a bargain. There are "fancy" pit toilets up by the parking area. You then walk out the the Bend overlook. It is the desert all the way out, so bring water for sure. They have installed shade areas with seating every so often, which will be nice in the summer. Once you are there, you sort of jockey for a good spot to get some pictures. Even on a weekday in March, it was very busy. There is an area with a railing and then a whole area past that that you can walk/climb on for different aspects. Be careful. It was not as if you are on the edge of a cliff, but I'm sure some people think they can go right up to it and get that crazy Instagram photo and there is nothing stopping them from falling off a cliff in the process.
I suggest you bring at least a 16mm wide angle lens or wider with you if you are bringing a camera. 16mm may be pushing it if you want the whole bend in the photo. My Samsung S22 Ultra's wide angle was perfect for it.
Also, the walk there and back is a little strenuous as it is not flat, so take your time if it is very hot out. I'm sure people overdo it there.Written May 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Mother Nature is a true beauty and is worth the stop here. Being that we’re Canadian it was a little overpriced as there’s an exchange rate so they price it in at 24.95 per pass but we have an exchange so it was closer to $85 for us so that sucks but definitely not a regret on our behalf. There is everything from baby gophers, cacti, flowers and many more things to see.Written May 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ivana ZSan Francisco, California, United States93 contributionsBeautiful views of Sedona and a really special place. They say that the church is on top of an energy vortex, and it might really be because the vibe was truly special! The statue of Jesus was beautifully done also, for those who are not religious but appreciate art. :)Written May 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CydLeeDuluth, MN10 contributionsMy husband and I excitedly visited the MIM on a weekday afternoon to learn about musical traditions around the world. Our enthusiasm was diminished a bit by MIM greeter who said it was obvious we were first timers that did not allow enough time for the museum. Perhaps the museum should not sell tickets beyond 2 p.m. then? We enjoyed three hours of MIM’s many galleries of impressive instrument collections and relevant/inspiring videos with corresponding summaries. We especially enjoyed the Artist and Experience galleries on the main level. The MIM experience deepens our appreciation for those who have and continue to make music possible.Written April 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DreamsOfMyComradesPark City, UT428 contributionsThis is a challenging, excellent hike with a fabulous reward at the end. We parked at the Dry Creek lot. I have an XTerra and probably could’ve made it to the lot that reduces the hike by half, but we enjoyed the walk and didn’t need the extra wear & tear on my vehicle. It’s about 4 miles round trip and took us exactly 3 hours, including lots of photo stops and about a 15-minute wait to get a picture on the bridge itself.
Most of the hike is pretty straightforward, just some uneven terrain and soft sand to slow you down. At the end you’re climbing up some rocks. It’s not dangerous or especially scary, but you need to know and take your time. The viewpoint at the end is magnificent. Well worth the time spent and the effort expended!Written May 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Wear shoes for walking on gravel and sand. So many types of planes, lots from WW Ii but also from 1800's to today.Written April 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jodie F6 contributionsWe used the electric tram, rode to the last stop then walked back after refreshing swim at around Stop 8.
