Our Mission

The mission of AIPAC is to encourage and persuade the U.S. government to enact specific policies that create a strong, enduring and mutually beneficial relationship with our ally Israel.

We engage with and educate decision-makers about the bonds that unite the two countries, and how it is in America’s best interest to strengthen those bonds and help ensure that the Jewish state remains safe, strong and secure.

Pro-Israel Americans

AIPAC brings together pro-Israel Americans—Democrats and Republicans alike—of every race, religion and background, to pursue a shared mission: keeping Israel safe and America strong.

We work to expand the U.S.-Israel alliance by cultivating relationships around shared values and empowering pro-Israel leaders across America, including those from the Jewish, African American, Hispanic, Christian, Progressive, Veteran and student communities. AIPAC encourages its members to participate in the political process and support candidates of their choice. AIPAC is not a political action committee. It does not rate or endorse candidates.

One of the most effective ways to impact American support for Israel is to ensure those who support the U.S.-Israel relationship in Congress, and those running for office, have the financial support of the pro-Israel community.

We encourage AIPAC members to participate in pro-Israel political efforts and contribute to candidates of their choice in a pro-Israel context. AIPAC is not a political action committee. It does not rate, endorse or contribute to candidates.

Shared Values and Interests

The U.S.-Israel relationship is built on an unshakable commitment to shared values and interests. America and Israel are sister democracies dedicated to the rule of law, human rights, and freedoms of speech and religion.

The United States has long defined Israel’s survival and security as important to its own national interests. As part of this strategic partnership, America helps ensure Israel can defend itself, by itself, against mounting security threats through annual security assistance and missile defense cooperation.

A strong and secure Israel provides America with significant benefits. Israel plays a stabilizing role in a volatile region.  And Israel openly shares its experience and expertise to help keep Americans safe and better prepared to address shared challenges.

 AIPAC National Leadership

AIPAC’s National Board of Directors is responsible for approving AIPAC’s policy positions, determining the annual budget, building relationships with members of Congress and ensuring pro-Israel activism in local communities.

AIPAC’s National Council is a leadership body that includes our most active, dedicated and committed members from across the country. The National Council convenes three times a year in Washington, D.C. Once a year, the National Council reviews and approves the annual Action Principles that guide the organization’s policy objectives.

Policy Agenda

AIPAC urges all members of Congress to support a strong U.S.-Israel relationship through foreign aid, government partnerships, joint anti-terrorism efforts, and the promotion of peace through a negotiated two-state solution—a Jewish state of Israel living alongside a demilitarized Palestinian state.

AIPAC advocates for vital security assistance to Israel and the development of cooperative missile defense programs with the United States, which allow Israel to defend itself, by itself.  We work to end Israel’s isolation in international forums and promote strategic cooperation between the United States and Israel in key sectors including technology, energy, cyber security, border security, intelligence sharing and agriculture.
