The Samsung 4.5-Cubic-Foot WF45T6000A Front-Load Washer ties for No. 1 in both our Best Washing Machines of 2024 and Best Front-Load Washing Machines of 2024 ratings. It also earns the top spot in our Best Cheap Washing Machines of 2024 rating.
It has a capacity of 4.5 cubic feet. Though this isn’t the largest offering in our ratings, it’s roomy enough to fit bulky items like bedding. The WF45T6000A is equipped with Vibration Reduction Technology (VRT) to reduce noise and vibration, which comes in handy if you want to do laundry while others in your household are sleeping.
This smart washing machine has 10 preset cycles, including standard cycles like whites and delicates, as well as more specialized cycles for activewear and bedding. There’s also a Self Clean option so you can keep the machine itself fresh. The washer will notify you about every 40 cycles to let you know it’s time to clean it.
The unit’s control panel is fairly straightforward but may take some getting used to if you’re coming from a less-advanced machine. There’s a large dial that allows you to toggle between wash cycles and an LED display with buttons so you can change the temperature, rinse quantity, spin speed, and soil level.
The Samsung WF45T6000A has a Smart Care function that pairs with the Samsung Smart Washer/Dryer app, allowing you to troubleshoot problems with your machine from your smartphone.
This front-loading machine comes in three finishes: platinum, white, and brushed black. Shoppers also have the option to add risers for an additional cost. The standard warranty covers parts and labor for one year and the motor for up to 10 years.

You can also add a pedestal, a platform that raises your machine to a more comfortable height for loading and unloading, for an extra price. The white pedestal is $259, while all other finishes cost $279. Aside from making your machine more accessible, pedestals can also be used to store laundry items like detergent.

Samsung WF45T6000A vs. LG 5-Cubic-Foot WM4200H Front-Load Washer
The Samsung WF45T6000A and the LG WM4200H are both smart, high-efficiency machines, though they have some notable differences. The Samsung washer has a 4.5-cubic-foot capacity while the LG is slightly larger at 5 cubic feet.
Additionally, the Samsung has 10 preset wash cycles while the LG has 14, including a TurboWash 360 option that can clean a large load in 30 minutes. Samsung WF45T6000A vs. GE 4.8-Cubic-Foot GTW720BSNWS Top-Load Washer
The most obvious difference between the Samsung WF45T6000A and the GE GTW720BSNWS is their loading style. The Samsung is a front-loading washing machine, while the GE is a top-load washer. Additionally, the Samsung includes smart features, which allow you to troubleshoot your machine from your smartphone. With the GE, however, you need an extra part, GE’s U+ connect module, which costs $50, if you want to be able to connect your machine to Wi-Fi.
The GE is more limited in terms of finishes. It only comes in white, while the Samsung is available in three finishes: white, brushed black, and platinum. However, they’re comparable when it comes to capacity, and they both have vibration-reduction technology that ensures a quieter operation.

Super Speed option that quickly cleans clothes when you have limited time
Shallow tub design that makes it easier to remove clothes
Cons:

It has a large, 5-cubic-feet capacity and a Deep Fill option that can detect the size of your load, adding extra water when necessary so all your items are soaked. Despite its larger size, it has a shallow tub design that makes it easier to reach into the machine when it’s time to remove clothes.
There are 12 preset wash cycles, including a Super Speed wash option that can complete a load in about 36 minutes. Other wash cycles include whites, darks, activewear, and delicates. It also has a Delay End option, meaning you can program your machine to finish your wash at a later time, a handy feature if you need to run a cycle when you’re not at home.
Though it lacks Wi-Fi connectivity, you can use the unit’s Smart Care feature to troubleshoot your machine. Once you select this option, your washer will display a code that you can scan with Samsung’s Smart Washer/Dryer app. The app will then interpret this information and give you solutions.
The Samsung 5-Cubic-Foot WA50R5400A Top-Load Washer comes in two finishes: white and fingerprint-resistant black stainless steel.

A Samsung washing machine can be self-installed or you can pay for professional installation when you purchase the product. Installation costs about $25, and you will also need to buy inlet water hoses to connect to your hot and cold water faucets. Installation doesn’t require any specialized tools but does require existing plumbing, including taps and somewhere to run the drain hose, plus an appropriate electrical outlet. A level is also recommended to confirm the machine is flat, and if it isn’t you can adjust the leveling feet. If you will be stacking your washer with a dryer, you might need a separate stacking kit.
Samsung recommends running the machine’s Self Clean cycle every 40 cycles for front loaders and every 20 cycles for top loaders to eliminate any residue and buildup in the drum. An automatic reminder will pop up on the control panel at these intervals. Even if you don’t use your washing machine regularly, you should still run a self-clean cycle at least once a month. Samsung also suggests cleaning the surface of the washer with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive household cleaner – liquid should not be sprayed directly onto the washer.
Samsung has a support site at Samsung.com with online guides, FAQs, interactive demos, and a community forum. You can also register your product online, schedule and track service requests, and find repair people. There is a 24/7 online chat and text message service, as well as phone support by calling 1-800-Samsung (1-800-726-7864) to speak with a person. You can also ask questions of the support team on Twitter and Facebook. Additionally, all models in our ratings work with Samsung’s Smart Care app, which lets you diagnose any issues by scanning a code on the machine with your smartphone.
Samsung offers a limited warranty to the original owner with proof of purchase. It covers a one-year warranty for parts and labor, a three-year warranty on the tub, and a 10- to 20-year warranty on the direct drive motor, parts only, depending on the model.
