There's Something About Harry
If you’re going to blatantly recast a well-known character seven seasons into your show’s run, you better work in a subtle reference to the change in your script. At least that’s how we feel, so we were pleased by Athena’s reaction to Harry’s return in Episode 4. Yes, we too noticed how “tall” her son (now played by Elijah M. Cooper) has gotten. Just look at Bobby’s face in this moment — he knows a recast when he sees one.
Marcanthonee Reis, who has portrayed Harry since 9-1-1 premiered in 2018, “was sort of ready to move on,” Minear tells TVLine. “I reached out to Marcanthonee, who hadn’t been around for a minute, and I pitched him this story. I think he loved the story, but was just ready to do something new.”
I’ve been so wrapped up in the world of 9-1-1 that I’ve completely missed for years that I know who Devin Kelley is and that I used to be a fan of hers when she was on Resurrection.
.
Haha! Oh well, it’s good to see her again and that scene was great.
Its a kiss, but not the one that I’ve been wait for 😉
Hen and Karen are my favorites and while I loved the resolution I hated the dog analogy for Mara and thought overall it wasn’t the greatest writing, especially their being kind of oblivious. But I’m thrilled when they get juicier stories and I do hope this is explored more.
Happy that Buck is bisexual. I wish there had been more build-up. Not sure why he likes the guy so much, In haven’t seen much of a connection there. We’ll see what happens next episode but I hope it doesn’t overshadow the wedding, it’s Maddie and Chim time to shine.
He likes Tommy so much because he reminds him of Eddie. That’s why it was built up through the Eddie/Tommy friendship. It’s the same way he felt about Eddie when he first arrived, Tommy just happened to make the move Buck needed him to in order for him to understand what he was feeling.
I also thought this was pretty apparent (especially in Buck’s conversation with Maddie) yet recent interviews seem to call it in question a bit?? Which confused me. I see them as distinct but parallel threads. Buck and Tommy haven’t yet displayed the kind of *spark* that elevates their relationship and I’m pretty wary of some online fans trying to marry them off, because I don’t think that would be rewarding or healthy storytelling. I see him as more of a friend. But I trust the show to tell Buck’s story with care.
This was my read on it too. As someone who has been in Buck’s shoes.
Buck and tommy!Just the best!❤️
Buck and Tommy are okay for now but Buddie is endgame.
Buck being kissed made my heart flutter. I have been waiting for him to learn more about himself and the scene was absolutely beautiful.
Buck’s tender sexual awakening storyline has brought forth extraordinary new facets of his character and Oliver Stark’s acting has been outstanding in each and every scene. 👏👏👏
As much as I loved Buck and Tommy’s cringe date and kiss for me number 1 should’ve been number 5 that Oscar line and how they worked in the poseidon adventure was hilarious and Angela Bassett sold the hell out of it as usual, was laughing so much
“The Kiss We’ve All Been Waiting For” and is not a Buddie kiss, you gotta be kidding me. Are you that thirsty for engagement?
I’ve always been a diehard Buddie shipper… but Buck and Tommy are wonderful together. Really hoping Lou Ferrigno, Jr. lands more episode appearances than originally planned! ❤️
There could definitely be a place for Tommy in the show! The Buck/Tommy shipping that I’ve seen online is getting kind of wild, though…people are unironically saying, “Can’t wait for Tommy to meet his future-in-laws when he saves Chimney and delivers him to the ceremony in his helicopter!” and I can’t express how much I would hate if that was made into THE thing in the wedding episode 😅 Like, please let Maddie and Chimney have this.
Let Eddie fall in love with someone new and amazing. Please don’t bring back a ghost, that only spoil the show. Please move on, do you remember the series Dallas?
Bringing back Bobby from the dead killed the show.
They are not actually bringing Shannon back from the dead…
“The Kiss we’ve all been waiting for”. For serious? This kiss has been barely two episodes in the making. Who has been waiting for it? Now if that had been Eddie and Buck… then you’d have something. Frankly one of the best moment was seeing seeing Norman and Lola again. And Lola getting arrested. Again. I loved the look on Athena’s face when she realized who Lola and Norma were when they sat down at their table on the cruise ship. Athena had arrested Lola in Season 2 (well deserved) and disliked her intensely then.
I have no interest in Buck’s love life. He’s essentially an overgrown teenager.

I’m interested in seeing what happens with Mara, Hen, and Karen. I’ve liked their fostering stories way more than Hen’s foray into medical school. I hope we get to see Hen’s mom agains soon. Marsha Warfield is so good in that role.

I love Bobby and Athena and their trip on the cruise.
I haven’t felt that kiss, I think there is hardly any chemistry between Buck and Tommy. Yes, I love Buddie, and I will respect Tevan for as long as it lasts, but there isn’t the enormous chemistry that exists between Buck and Eddie. For me the big moment so far in Season 7 is Devin Kelley, I think that scene between Chris and his mother was necessary, it was beautiful.
I absolutely adore Buck’s Sexual Awakening!! I have been waiting & hoping for this moment for years!! This season is amazing so far! Can’t wait for the next episode ♡
Stop watching after the episode of buck kissing man …tired of this being shoved down my throat
Queer people just existing and living our lives isn’t shoving anything down your throat. The show has also had lgbtq characters and relationships since the first episode so nothing is changing.
I do love number 1 and cant wait to see where the story goes but it wasn’t really the kiss we have all been waiting for! It wasn’t even a thought in my mind
LOVE this series…..LOVE “BUCK”
The kiss we’re all waiting for hasn’t happened yet. We all want to see Buddie happen. Also don’t know why whoever wrote this article decided to code Buck and Eddie as bros. Have you even watched the show? There has always been something more there with them.
The author of the article has been a Buddie shipper since season 2 I believe but he can only work with what the show is giving him right now (I personally took the ‘a true ally!’ line as a little nod to the fact that Eddie has some stuff to figure out himself, lol).
Who was waiting for that kiss exactly? No chemistry, no real buildup, Buck cared more about Eddie’s attention and life through the whole episode than he did Tommy. And I haven’t been impressed with what’s come after either. Bisexual rep is great, I hope we get to see Buck working on himself and understanding this better *outside* of a romantic relationship. He has once again jumped in too quick. Inviting this new guy to his sisters wedding? After one failed date? Nah.
And calling his talk and hug with Eddie a “Bro-ment”? No thank you. We all know there’s more there. And being “worried” about Eddie’s reaction? Do you even watch the show? His reaction was 100% in character and expected. Put some respect on his name. But yeah, he’s a true “ally” kinda like Buck is. lmao
I agree, Buck’s relationship with Tommy so far parallels all his failed relationships to a T. He is interested, he does something the other person is overwhelmed with, they flee, he chases them and doubles down. I mean, inviting him to his sister’s wedding for a second date?
I like Lou, and I don’t necessarily mind this was Buck’s first kiss with a man. But it definitely wasn’t one I have been waiting for, for years. Tommy is but a blip, he is temporary. Eddie on the other hand, ever ever after.
We have been waiting for a Buddie hug for years. (67 episodes, 1627 days). And it was glorious. The whole scene was a dream. Ryan and Oliver are always at their absolute bestest when in scenes together. I love their friendship, the family they built, and when they finally kiss … (fingers crossed).
Loved the Oscar dig for Angela. And Maddie, Chim and Josh fangirling about The Bachelor was super adorable.
And of course Karen and hen being absolute couples and family goals. it is always such a treat to see Tracie. Though I would love to see more scenes with Karen and Buck and Karen and Eddie.
There are beautiful moments in the show. I can say that we have found our real home. Thank you, ABC. The writing this season is different, and I feel that there is pressure that the writers have relieved. As for Buck’s kiss, when I was actually watching the sexual tension in that scene, I remembered the scene with Buck and Eddie in Season 3, Episode 9. It was parallel to what happened. Are you kidding us, Tim? Buck is always looking for love and family, and it is in front of him I hope there will be a similar awakening for Eddie No one denies the power they have
