70% Tomatometer 33 Reviews 75% Audience Score 250+ Ratings Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear reimagine the procedural drama with "9-1-1." The series explores the high-pressure experiences of first responders -- including police officers, firefighters and dispatchers -- who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping situations. These emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives. The show draws from real-life, high-pressure experiences of first responders who regularly face heart-stopping situations that are often unpredictable, intense and uplifting at the same time. What to Know

      Critics Consensus

9-1-1 occasionally veers into melodrama, but is redeemed with a top-tier cast, adrenaline-pumping action, and a dash of trashy camp that pushes the show into addictive guilty pleasure territory.

Sam Wollaston Guardian To be honest, I'm not quite sure whether I am meant to be sitting on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, or rolling around on the floor, laughing. And, in the end, I'm not really doing any of it. Or caring an awful lot. Rated: 2/5 Aug 17, 2018 Full Review Suzi Feay Financial Times It could yet turn out to be a classic of the lantern-jawed hero genre. Rated: 4/5 Aug 10, 2018 Full Review Amy Amatangelo Paste Magazine I'm here to convince you that this trashy show is spectacular and that you must immediately begin watching this nonsense. Mar 7, 2018 Full Review John Hanlon John Hanlon Reviews Part of the fun is watching the writers create some unbelievable emergencies for the characters to face. Rated: 3.0/4 Nov 19, 2018 Full Review Mads Misasi Tell-Tale TV All season long we have watched the wonderfully complex members of the LAPD, LAFD, and 9-1-1 dispatch grow and come together. Rated: 5/5 Jun 19, 2018 Full Review Eliza C. Thompson Cosmopolitan It turns out she would, kind of. 9-1-1 is a procedural in the sense that each episode involves multiple rescues by the first responders, but it's just so off-the-wall that I refuse to believe this is what's happening on like, Chicago Fire. Jennifer H We love watching this series! Great show! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/20/24 Full Review Sydney C I love this show and I'm so glad that ABC picked it up for Season 7. Fox's loss and ABC's gain. What kind of crazy network executive cancels a hit show is beyond me. Angela Bassett as Athena is phenomenal. The entire cast is great. And the storylines are gripping, emotional, riveting and well-written. 9-1-1 harkens back to the old-school drama series' that had audiences glued to their TVs on the nights they were on. Bravo ABC for understanding the assignment. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/01/24 Full Review Holly I thought this was gonna be rubbish.. I really hates most of the cast but a carries on and it's bloody brilliant.. the whole cast has grown on me! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/19/23 Full Review Caroline H O god!!! Always the backs and they are always the victims 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/23/23 Full Review Kat B It was enough to get me hooked. Performances are a bit on the excessive side, but still bearable Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/19/23 Full Review Louise C A gripping first season. Although sometimes overly dramatic, it is fiction, which gives licence for some freedom to depart from reality. All the characters play their parts well. I specially enjoy Angela Bassett as Athena Grant who does not always obey the rules of Police Procedure, Buck and Abby's connection is a refreshing change from the average I like that real-life relationship issues are woven into the stories That enhances the show.
