message 1: by Patricia (new)

Patricia Sorry, I don't ever read books like these, so I didn't vote.

message 2: by Heidi (new)

Heidi Angell Hmm.... I haven't read any of these ( though if they are newer, I've kinda been on a sci-fi kick lately.)

My favorite witch books are the Wicked Series By Nanci Holder and Debbie Viguie. (Not the one that got made into a musical. This is different!!)
So, yeah, they weren't there for me to vote on! Sorry!

♫♥✿LovLivLife Reviews✿♥♫ (Chasity) is it bad that I have many of these books on my shelf yet have not read them? =) I need to make the time soon!

message 4: by J.D. (new)

J.D. Stroube I LOVE books about witches and there aren't enough of them out!

message 5: by D.A. (new)

D.A. Schneider I just realized I haven't read many books about witches. All I could do is add the one I wrote, but I'll have to check some of these out.

message 6: by Patrícia (new)

Patrícia Schmidt Rodrigues I found missing marion zimmer bradley and Anne Ricce.

message 7: by Bad Tim (new)

Kelly Bad Tim wrote: "granny weatherwax is sorely underrepresented"

Too right! Best witch EVER!

message 9: by Julene (new)

Julene Hunter where are Anne Rice witch books?

message 10: by Aaron (new)

Aaron Carson Julene wrote: "where are Anne Rice witch books?"
They've got The Witching Hour on there. We're only supposed to vote for the first in the series. That said, I did think it was the best one in the Mayfair series.

message 11: by Diane (new)

Diane I hope many readers and writers realize that many 'witches' thrive in this world, performing many great mind boggling and life-changing experiences every day.
Many of us are teachers in the public school systems!
A process-centered teacher is usually one of the best. They are mainly women who have dedicated themselves to encouraging their students to consistently and continually explore nature and life in all aspects. Such teachers enjoy magic! So do their students. Many of their students go on to have a very successful and happy life. They remember those teachers forever.

message 12: by Sarrah (last edited Oct 02, 2013 01:26PM) (new)

Sarrah I think The Witch of Blackbird Pond, Heretic's Daughter, and The Crucible are a bit misleading ... They're just people being ACCUSED of witchcraft in a time when that was very dangerous.

message 13: by Penny (new)

Penny I thoroughly recommend 'The Moon Spun Round' by Elenor Gill. Real witches, not the BS made up kind...

message 14: by Sandra (new)

Sandra King I know Harry Dresden is a wizard...but couldn't he be on the list????

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Sandra wrote: "I know Harry Dresden is a wizard...but couldn't he be on the list????"

message 17: by David (new)

David Corbin Not my genre, I don't read books like these, so I have not voted.

message 18: by Mary (new)

Mary Sarrah wrote: "I think The Witch of Blackbird Pond, Heretic's Daughter, and The Crucible are a bit misleading ... They're just people being ACCUSED of witchcraft in a time when that was very dangerous."

I agree. That should not of been on the list.

message 19: by Mary (new)

Mary David wrote: "Not my genre, I don't read books like these, so I have not voted."

Did you read the Chronicles of Narnia? They are pretty good.

message 20: by Stella (new)

Stella I am an avid paranormal genre fan. Many of the top 100 books listed are not the type of "witch" books I read. It says anyone can add to this list, so I did and voted for books I have read vs books I have not read.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Anne Bishop's Black Jewels Series should be included. Also, A Nameless Witch.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

I vote for A Nameless Witch by A. Lee Martinez. A whimsical and funny book about a witch CURSED to be young and pretty, who must team with a white knight, who isn't really white, to save the world from a troll army led by a wizard named Soulless Gustav.

BookLovingLady (deceased Jan. 25, 2023...) Very helpful, these lists, as I completely forgot about The Master and Margarita and Macbeth :-)

message 24: by Haley (new)
