The citizenM Tower of London Hotel boasts a modern, funky atmosphere and tech-friendly rooms that have won over guests with their cleanliness and innovative design. Nestled in a prime location, the hotel offers stunning views and convenient access to local attractions, although room sizes have been a point of contention for some guests. While the high-tech amenities and rooftop bar receive commendations, opinions on value diverge, with a number of travelers questioning the price point given the basic offerings and additional charges. Despite some reports of slow service, the staff’s friendliness is often highlighted.

Wow! Wow! Wow! I have to start this review with a triple WOW!! The reviews, photos and comments do not do this hotel justice!! This is without a doubt the only hotel I will be staying at on future trips! The hotel itself is swish, modern and if you are a fan of fancy technology then this is the hotel you have to stay in! Each room is controlled by a “MoodPad” that allows you to control the lights and heating plus ambient mood lighting and the television! The television itself deserves a 5 star review! It has in built Hollywood style movies that you would pay a small fortune on Sky Store for plus a range of adult movies for those with a more specific interest! Breakfast is available for £12.50 per day and the selection you get is nothing short of extraordinary!! You can then sit in the beautiful modern lounge and read a book or just enjoy the music and cultural hubbub of the morning! You can visit the breakfast bar as much as you like too! The entire hotel has fast unlimited and free WiFi, a power shower and water stocked in the mini fridge. It offers a small amount of rooms with “tower of London views” and the picture in this review shows just how wonderful that view is! It is a 20 second walk from Tower Hill underground and a 2 minute walk to Fenchurch Street station as well as a 10-15 minute walk to Covent Garden and Drury Lane. I cannot recommend this hotel enough and I’ll be back very soon!!

I have been to this hotel on three different occasions when visiting London now. It's fine for a single traveller. It's nicely located near the Tower Hill tube station and enough buses pass by if you prefer that form of transport to get around. I also like the fact that there are plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby - in fact I preferred to have breakfast in a nearby pub which was considerably cheaper than at the hotel.

My room this time was identical to the ones on previous visits. It was compact and had some nice features including the atmospheric mood lighting and an efficient shower. The double bed was in the window alcove - only accessible from the room side. The large, flat screen telly was on the wall at the bottom of the bed. Free bottled water was available in the tiny fridge which I appreciated. Other than that I really did get the impression that I was staying in a rather snazzy and modern prison cell.

Service was good when I needed it. I arrived early and was told that I could store my luggage until the room was ready for me later that afternoon. Fair enough. On the Sunday morning my return flight home was cancelled owing to the storm Ciara and I was relieved that I could extend my stay in the same room once having re-booked via booking.com.

This isn't a bad place for solo travellers. If travelling with the family I'd probably choose to go somewhere with bigger rooms.

Hubby and I stayed in room 503 for two nights. Room was comfortable and stylish. Shower was instantly hot and the range of bath products though limited were just what we needed. Towels were soft and the room was clean. Room was well insulated and the blinds were brilliant as we could sleep in till after 9am and weren’t bothered by the sun.
Check-in was fairly straight forward. Lounge though a tad noisy was spacious and comfy. Bed was comfortable and our extra pillows were brought up within the hour. We didn’t try the breakfast but the tea and coffee we ordered were good.
We would definitely stay again. Ask for a high room if you want a view of the Minories.
I did think some of the staff did not understand English well but they were friendly and helpful.
Outstanding value.

We'd never stayed in a CitizenM before but we had experienced similar styles of hotels before. Following a recommendation of a good friend however and booking during a savings event we decided to give the Tower of London Hotel a go and it did not disappoint.

As you can see from the photos we booked a tower view which looks stunning during the day and the night.

The staff were extremely polite, professional and welcoming and the cleanliness extremely high. The only real downside to the location however is the late night posers in their lamborghinis racing past...whuch may not be an issue if you're a heavy sleeper but something to keep in mind (not that it's something thr hotel can really deal with, other than increase acoustic insulation or sound baffling / dampening.

All in all however it was a fantastic stay and a hotel we'd be happy to visit again in the future.

I stayed in London from Sunday the 26th to Tuesday the 28th was travelling solo for a concert. After discovering CitizenM years ago I’ve loved staying with them many times at Tower Hill, Bankside, Times Square in NYC and Paris but this time I was left a little under whelmed.

Normally it’s great and I love the experience but this time Tower Hill felt overwhelmed with business men over breakfast conducting meetings and clogging up table space with laptops and books for their meetings. I wouldn’t normally mind but when it’s 9:30 you’ve paid for the breakfast and the table space is limited because over-run business meetings when you’re having breakfast.

I shared a large table with 7 business men who gave me death stares when I sat down at the shared table, I didn’t realise it was an open door policy for everyone to use the lounge as a free for all meeting space even at 9am. I wouldn’t mind if there were set times but it feels they capitalise on their space at the expense of guests.

At lunch time a group of ladies who were collecting donations for charities outside Tower Hill tube station came in minus their tabards and took over the large sofas we were resting on taking their sandwich packs out and drink cartons and asked us if we wouldn’t mind shuffling up a little to make room for them? Again didn’t realise it was an open door policy where you share the amenities with everyone from outside?

Just a shame you pay £240+ for a few nights at your favourite hotel and find they now allow all the locals to come and put their feet up and have run of the lobby area for meetings I wouldn’t mind so much if it was after breakfast had closed but certainly changed my opinion on staying there again.

Yes, the rooms are compact, modern quirky and compact. And very well designed. A king size bed fills the whole width of the room below the window, taking up perhaps 40% of the room. The shower and toilet are in a translucent pod, the basin is in the body of the room. An iPad (yes really!) controls TV, heating, blind and even the colour of the light from the shower pod.

Downsides - well, the free WiFi May be excellent, but it’s not password protected. In this day and age? If there is secure WiFi, there was no indication of how to access it.

And - the decision has been taken not to put tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms. I’m sorry, but waking in the morning a shot of caffeine makes all the difference before ambling down to breakfast. To me that is a real omission in the UK - it’s expected here.

But would I stay there again? Most certainly.

Atop the Tower Hill tube station make this an easy access hotel with interesting quirky internal design. Although it can be seen from the website photos we hadn’t expected the room to be so small, taken up almost entirely by the huge comfortable wall to wall bed. Great if you’re alone but inconvenient if you have to climb over your partner to get to the loo. We had hoped we could sit and enjoy our extra cost Tower of London view whilst enjoying a drink by our room window. Not possible, you have to go to the 7th floor sky bar to do that, which is very nice.
The iPad room controls are an unnecessary gimmick and would not allow independent control of the light in the loo so all of them had to go on even in the middle of the night. The free movies were a welcome addition.
The breakfast was good with a wide selection on offer but only scrambled eggs,no other options.
The differentiator from other similar hotels was the staff. Without exception they were pleasant, helpful and always smiling. Thanks to them we’ll probably return.

I stayed at the Tower of London CitizenM for 3.5 months between Jan and April 2021 due to relocating to the UK. The staff all really made it a surprisingly enjoyable stay. They were all naturally easy going but professional, they all made me feel really welcomed; nothing seemed to be too much trouble and they were all very engaging to chat with. The team at the Tower of London really are a credit to the company!!!
The rooms were cleaned thoroughly on a regular basis and all had cool iPad controls for the lights, TV, blinds, air conditioning etc. Some rooms are quite small but the entire ground floor is a lounge area with very stylish chairs, sofas, tables etc to relax on and watch TV, read a book, do some work etc.
I'd highly recommend staying and I will definitely return at some point! Thank you again to all the Tower Bridge team!

Had a couple of days in London recently to celebrate a special birthday for my wife and we stayed in the Citizen M at Tower bridge. Great location and paid a little bit extra to have a view looking on to the Tower of London, so glad we did.

If you book through the app you get a better deal and also a free drink at the bar on the top floor and in fact this hotel was less expensive than some Premier inns we looked at. The rooms are quite small but perfectly formed and ultra modern. You work everything in the room such as lights, blinds, tv, mood lighting (which we loved) through an I pad in the room although you can operate the lights, tv and the blinds by switch. There is also a little fridge in the room which is great.

The staff are so friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel location is great, loads of bars and restaurants near by and getting around London is easy since Tower Hill underground is right at the hotel. The hotel does not take cash and also remember when travelling on the train or tube to tap in and out of each station you arrive at or depart from with your contactless bank card. An employee at the station said that this is cheaper than buying actual tickets.

Drinks are expensive in the hotel as they are everywhere in London with the exception of a Wetherspoons nearby.

All in all a great stay and I would thoroughly recommend this Citizen M to anyone.

This is by far one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in, the decor is modern, quirky and youthful, and not like any other traditional hotel. It’s location is brilliant right next to Tower Hill tube station and with landmarks like The Tower of London, Tower Bridge and the Shard all nearby.

Check in was fast and contactless with helpful staff at hand if you need it. Rooms are compact but cleverly designed so that you have more than enough room to store your belongings, with a iPad being the rooms main control panel, being able to change the lights, temperature, open/close blinds, play music, change the TV channel, order room service as well as see local information about the area and hotel. We paid extra for the River Thames view and it the best decision ever! The windows are large and I enjoyed looking out them and watching busy london go by for minutes on end. The bathroom is also cleverly designed to fit well into the room and overall I have no concerns regarding it.

There is a rooftop bar which is massively underestimated as the views from the top are amazing, whilst the drinks aren’t to my personal taste the bartenders were friendly and loved having a chat.

The CitizenM is more on the pricey side but if you want to go away for a weekend in london and go all out this is the one for you!

Well in all fairness, a power cut is definitely in the power of a hotel (not!). This is very unfortunate of course, but surely the hotel itself didn’t plan it just to p…it’s visitors off.

My husband and I have stayed at least 3 times and have never been disturbed by any noise such as doors banging. The beds and mood lighting are so good we get a fab nights sleep and wake very happy. The same way we went to sleep. In all fairness we have never been next to the lifts so cannot comment on any potential noise there. The lifts are high tech and silent though. Hope this helps. Enjoy 🤗
