My wife and I ate here before a New Year's Eve party at the Renaissance. It was a prix fixe menu with salad, main course and dessert. The salads were solid, particulaly mine with a number of shaved root vegetables. The star, though, was my...wife's strip steak. She claimed it was the best steak she's ever had and I may have to agree. Beautifully aged, with just a bit of char and a deep smoky flavor. Simply seasoned with salt and pepper. My duck confit was good. Tender and flavorful, and most of it was moist. But some of it was dry. It came with root vegetables, including beets. It was on top of a potato pancake, which didn't work that well. All the juices from the rest of the plate made it a bit of a soggy mess. The desserts were both good. My creme brulee had an intense vanilla custard flavor with a nice crust. My wife's parfait was a nice layering of mousse and chocolate cake or torte. Overall, we wouldn't hesitate to come back. At least for the steak.More

First the bar: The menu was limited. The Caesar salad was good ( thankfully). The burger was burnt. I did not send it back at I was ravenous. The service was atrocious. Now the actual restaurant. I was staying at the hotel for an event....We had lunch here. The menu while not huge was varied and interesting. Service was amazing. The place was clean and the staff were kind without being intrusive. I had the flat bread with blackberries on it. YUM1 I was offered a bite of another flat bread that was equally tasty. Others on my table were also quite pleased with their meals.More

I ate here around noon with three business colleagues. The restaurant was empty except for us and another table, so it was very quiet and relaxing. We were expecting ordinary hotel restaurant food, but we were pleasantly surprised. We all had different salads, and we...all agreed they were very good. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. I will be going back there, especially for business lunches.More

This was my girlfriend's birthday dinner so we wanted something special. We chose their six course dinner with wine pairings, and we could not have been more pleased. You don't know what the courses will actually consist of until they arrive at your table -...which, for us, is part of the appeal. Everything we had was excellent, as was the service. The sous chef even came out to welcome us and explain more about the history of one of the courses. Highly recommended.More

We were there for their Thanksgiving prix fixe dinner. The venue is unassuming, but service was good. They are clearly trying to produce something good with local ingredients and in house production. I don't love turkey, but theirs was excellent. I also got a very...good bottle of Arneis, not a usual find in this country. Nice presentation as well.More

We had dinner there and enjoyed everything. The steak was delicious and the dessert was worth every calorie and very unique with ginger whip cream. They are farm to table, which means it's healthier too!

For a hotel restaurant, this place is the best in all of Columbus, Ohio. we all(5) ate there twice. We had an amazing dinner that the chef picked for us. i was exceptionally satisfied, my friends even more. Tmanager although very young was very personable....we unfortunately went down for breakfast. amazing how a place could be so different dinner to breakfast. Great service though. extremely busy breakfast. ask for eggs benedict, again, my food was great, my friends not so much. Cant wait to vist this place again.More

My wife and I visited Latitude 41 for our 1st year wedding anniversary dinner on June 10, 2012. The staff of Latitude 41 went above and beyond to make our stay extremely special and memorable - this included tracking down some lost flowers that I...had delivered to the restaurant the day before (since we were eating there on a Sunday). We were set in a private "room", an area enclosed by rich red curtains, and we had a great waitstaff - hats off especially to Charles! We chose to do their 6 course wine & dinner tasting menu ($80 a person, but well worth it), and were served a continuous surprise of chef created dishes. To note: you must have time in order to do this option - our reservation was at 6:30, and we left the restaurant after 9:30. We were also given a bonus course that the chef just wanted to try out on us. Food/Wine: Pork Belly & Kimchi on Crostini with Champagne, Scrambled Holistic Farms Duck Egg & Lox w/ Fennel and Riesling, Strawberry Gazpacho with Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc, Fig & Beet Salad with Goat Cheese served with a Pinot Grigio, Lake Erie Walleye over Spanish Beans with Lai Lai Pinot Noir, Lamb Chop over amazing whipped potatoes and a braised peach with a Meritage, and a dessert sampler with Grahams 6 yr. Porto Reserva. Everything was excellent, but the lamb was by far the best dish. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a true food experience, or to those who wish to support OH businesses, as the restaurant focuses on getting most of its ingredients in-state.More

Occasionally a person stumbles across a rare discovery, much like finding a pearl inside an oyster. The oyster is common. Even ugly. The pearl on the other hand is unique and quite beautiful. Such was the experience my wife and I shared with our friends...last Saturday. Unbeknownst to us, a new chef (Adam Cobb) had just begun his role at Latitude 41. Yes, that’s the Renaissance Hotel “lobby restaurant”, but for those that have turned-up their noses at such an establishment, please be advised that it is worth a second look. I can honestly say that the evening was one of the finest dining experiences I have had in quite some time. I would offer this suggestion: go for the chef’s sampler menu and let them decide what to serve you. Simply let them know of any food allergies or things you simply won’t eat and they’ll work around your tastes. The four of us chose the four course sampler for $40 per person (we opted to complement each course with wine which is an additional $15 option…and well worth it). There is a six course option, but I’m not sure I had room for two more items. We started with a delicious leek soup and a delightful salad featuring a vanilla balsamic vinaigrette dressing and sliced pears. Then, out came the spicy muscles in a yummy broth…about a dozen…cooked to perfection. The 3rd course, wait shouldn’t this be the 4th course?, was soft-shell crab over a bed of black rice cooked with bacon or some other salty meat or at least this is how I recall that particular course. (The consensus among the four of us was that this was the weakest link in our chain of wonderful dishes.) Then, out came a sliced portion of hangar steak cooked sous vide (an under water technique that a non-foodie like me found most unusual and effective) and then briefly grilled to perfection, served with a taste of fingerling potatoes, pearl onions and a bit of asparagus for accent. After enjoying all our courses and wines we were more than satisfied. But wait, here comes the dessert sampler of four or five sweet sensations. By this time I was in a food coma, but I recall thinking I liked the spongy toffee cake best…or was it Jeni’s salty caramel ice cream or the raspberry/vanilla mousse or the other selections? Whew! Please note that not everyone at the table needs to go with the wine option and our server, Charles, more than made sure we were dining at a pace that worked for us. We relaxed over the evening while other diners scurried off to the symphony. Loved Latitude 41 and we shall return soon. Well done Chef Cobb!More

Our experience at Latitude 41 was a night worth remembering. Our party of 4 decided on the 6 Course Tasting Menu and we found out to everyones delight it was the right choice. Two of us were vegetarian but the chefs came up with magical...creations that made us all ooh and aah. My favorites were the yummy Beet salad, the delectable Strawberry Gazpacho, and the divine desserts. The ginger-Pineapple dish makes me crave it!! Thanks for the great evening:) Easily one of the top places if not the best in Columbus!More

What an awful experience! Little to no service at our table even though the restaurant was practically empty at 6:30. To make it worse, our food didn’t come for 70 minutes! We had a party of four with two salad orders and two entrees. How...is that possible? Finally had enough of the interminable wait and walked out without eating after waiting for over an hour so we wouldn’t miss our theater show. Can’t believe that a downtown restaurant would have such shocking service. Avoid at all costs!!More

I had the $35 prix fixe meal during a recent business trip and loved every bite. It was great value as it included a glass of wine - any of their "by the glass" wines on the menu. How nice to be able to choose!...The seasonal beet and goat cheese salad was delicious. Every piece of baby greens was fresh and crisp and the presentation made it both pretty, and easy to eat. The seafood stew offering was a special, with more of a citrus flavour to the broth (not the miso one on the current menu). It was excellent and the server happily provided a few slices of oven crisped artisan bread to sop up the delicious broth. I couldn't finish the chocolate peanut butter & banana dessert, but it was tasty and not overly peanutty. The servers were friendly, and attentive. I hadn't realised this restaurant is in the main floor of a hotel. Don't be confused (as I was) by the lounge of the same name across the hall. Go for the restaurant, you won't regret it.More

I went to the Latitude restaurant for dinner on a Thursday evening around 7:30pm. The place was deserted, no patrons and no servers. I went to the bar instead. The bar menu was pretty limited but the quality of the food was good. I had...previously been to a function in the restaurant and really enjoyed it.More
