Close-In Future – Turn Spotting?

The situation in the Middle East is “game on” again – and (surprisingly) Israel did not wait until the Friday close of markets to nick Iran, again.  Instead, they launched earlier than expected.

US Israel missile strike claims as Iran fires air defense at two sites after drones spotted. Notice in a second version of the story, Israel-Gaza updates: Israel retaliates against Iran, US official says – ABC13 Houston, reference is made to “near Isfahan air base and nuclear site” which seems to up the ante, some.

However, even reading the report Israel-Gaza live updates: Israel retaliates against Iran, US official says, we keep coming back to our Tempo/Tempi discussion of earlier this week.  For now, the “tempo is intact.”

Sensibly, CNBC is asking Israel and Iran: All-out war, or measured retaliation? (cnbc.com).  Very much in keeping with our thinking.

Although, since most Americans aren’t aware of the runway precision blows landed by Iran on an IDF intel operation in the Golan Heights earlier, we see the U.S. information warfare people are still, um, stretching the truth a bit.  As in CIA director: Iranian attack on Israel was a ‘spectacular failure’ (nbcnews.com). Well, no, not if it was a “clear out old inventory” and only center-line a runway to make a point.

Turn Calling comes Next.

Early futures were down, again.  Although, in our work – and for reasons we will get into in Peoplenomics tomorrow, we think the odds of a big dust-up over the weekend have faded a bit.  We have much larger historical market tendencies to worry about in late May.

With little economic news on the horizon – a more comprehensive preview of next week tomorrow on PN – there’s mainly a technical call to be considered in here.  You can see it in two market charts based on 5 AM future’s pricing today:

This first chart assesses the market decline from the (inflation-adjusted actual) market top in 2021.  While Wave 2 looks to have gone considerably higher (true) that doesn’t mean prices on a value/purchasing power basis was higher.  Our work scoffs at that.

There is a case though, that this is only the dragged out ending of micro 3 down of minor 1 of 1 of macro 3.

Now, the problem with this is that it sets up a condition where we might see a shorter micro 4 up, and micro 5 down to finish.  Which ought to be along about as Iran and Israel get back to stasis geopolitically for a while.  In other words, we could see an early May rally, and Jerome Powell just nailing his Chairman’s Remarks on May 1 (Fed rate day) could tee things off.

We’ll have to wait and see, of course, but the larger problem – late May – could then set up the massive Summer Rally my consigliere is betting on.  Then it all hits the fan in late October (before the election, which itself could become questionable) this fall.

Our other chart is this one where the real bad news is that our differential moving averages 2-DMA work is now in-process of busting the 85-day moving average.

We would not be surprised if – ahead of the Fed – we get a pop down.

Oh, also very short term, we have penciled in a 300-600 down day (in light pencil, not 2B, right?) a day either side of next Wednesday.  A rally at the close today, or Monday would stir some “old man cheeseburger trading” interest.

Who Has It Wrong?

The U.S. keeps screwing up Middle East policy. In part because it’s trying to rope-a-dope Palestinians and ultra-libs into supporting Biden’s bid.  (No bidding on Bidens remarks, please!).  While, at the same time going “whole Israel when playing the world political chessboard.

As a Financial Futurist in Training, FFiT, what do you think Palestine’s political leadership would say?  Palestine President Slams US After Washington Vetoes Bid For Full UN Membership: ‘Unfair, Unethical And Unjustified’.

For now, the 900-pound gorilla is Iran and the side action is funneling enough money into Egypt to prevent an economic depression there, which in turn, will keep Egypt out of Gaza…

The Western happy-talk this week ranged from the IMF (IMF: Egypt’s GDP to grow 3% in 2024, 4.4% in 2025 | Amwal Al Ghad) which then leads to other Egyptianomics like Egypt’s reserve money ‘M Zero’ hits EGP 1.683t by March-end.

But There is Another War

And this is the one where an attack on the American homeland could come without warning.  Because Russia’s on a slow burn over Ukraine.  From their standpoint, the longer America is left unpunished for the neocon/turned neolib warmongering, the more people are going to die worldwide.

And we are showing now signs of slowing.  If Congress passes funding, this is how the US could rush weapons to Ukraine for its war with Russia (yahoo.com)

One of the few pols on the Hill is Sen. J.D. Vance.  He’s at least talking common sense – which has become somewhat MIA of late. Sen. JD Vance warns that giving seized Russian assets to Ukraine will backfire – cleveland.com.

Fallback to Climate and Race

We assume by now you have caught up on your journal reading and have figured out that a) climate is not CO2 driven which is part of the climate marketing plan (Carbon dioxide does not cause climate change) and we assume you know heat and drought in the Sahel region predated human CO2 emissions? (Wikipedia says “The Sahel region of Africa has long experienced a series of historic droughts, dating back to at least the 17th century.) 1600s then?

Still, history doesn’t matter, and facts don’t seem to slow the relentless hype in ‘Human-induced’ climate change behind deadly Sahel heatwave, study finds (thejournal.ie).

Meanwhile, the Big Electric Vehicle con drags out, too. Mixed in now with wage complaints, if you can believe it!  European EV Makers Say Climate Goals At Risk As Electric Car Market Is No Longer Growing: ‘People Just Don’t Earn Enough To Buy These…’ – Stellantis (NYSE:STLA), Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA.

With the climate scam fading before consumer backlash, not to mention gourmet cooks still preferring gas to electrics for cooking, the next area of making up industry is the Return of Racism.

Which is being marketed as OK if you’re non-White, but bad, jailable hate if you are.  (See how Equality has gone MIA?).  For example, here’s a nice marketing of the “new inequality” – Do POC-only events help or hinder society’s progression in racial inclusivity? We know, at least in America, equality is still the law of the land, but in the U.K, who knows?

Meanwhile, in Minnesota? Rochester Police seeks public’s help with identifying those involved with racial slur on bridge (kttc.com).  We figure only a short time before the FBI, Homeland, and the alphabet people get roped in, too.

While over on the gender front, we liked the title of this (UK) piece: Equality roulette: assessing the legality of the Department of Education’s guidance on gender questioning students in schools ( Part 2) (familylaw.co.uk).  Its there, it’s non-statutory (meaning people make up jobs in it, but it’s not a law-based movement) yet somehow… well, you can sort out our concerns.

Meanwhile, the Constitution ignoring democrats hope stories like New Biden Title IX rules protect trans & nonbinary students (advocate.com) can keep flying under the radar.

Now, the Crazy Stuff

What, the above wasn’t enough? By comparison, some of this is sane…

One more gender note?  BREAKING: 18-year-old female trans student charged for planning two Maryland school shootings, manifesto said she wanted to be ‘famous’ | The Post Millennial.

Then there’s Maxine, and her latest crazy shit: Rep. Maxine Waters downplays Iran’s ‘fake’ attack on Israel, Tlaib storms out of Dem meeting (nypost.com).

But it’s all become a sign of these times.  Teacher sues after he’s convicted of putting ‘for sale’ sign in truck window (nypost.com)  There is still time for rights-loving people to move to the free state of Texas, but there will come a time…

Around the Ranch: We invent “Minner”

A funny thing has happened in the past week: I’ve lost five pounds.  And itd has only taken two minor changes in my life.

First is the hot weather showed up.  And since I sweat like crazy when it’s over 80, when it got up to 88 in the shop this week, I was just drenched.  Still, not to worried, since a good sweat is actually a helpful thing. Native Americans know this (sweat lodges) but it’s now confirmed in modern medicine, as well.  See how HSPs – Heat Shock Proteins – work.

Two read-in’s here:  Heat shock proteins; an overview – PubMed (nih.gov) and Heat Shock Proteins in Oxidative Stress and Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury and Benefits from Physical Exercises: A Review to the Current Knowledge – PubMed (nih.gov).

The Other Big Change was killing traditional “dinner” every other day.  This actually got started due to being drenched and not wanting to take part in meal prep.  “How about a glass of wine and just some antipasto?”

Antipasto – and call it Minner?  (Minimal Dinner):

Antipasto (pl.: antipasti) is the traditional first course of a formal Italian meal.[1] Usually made of bite-size small portions and served on a platter from which everyone serves themselves, the purpose of antipasti is to stimulate the appetite.[2] Typical ingredients of a traditional antipasto includes cured meatsolivespeperoncinimushroomsanchoviesartichoke hearts, various cheeses (such as provolone or mozzarella), pickled meats, and vegetables in oil or vinegar.”

A typical minner here has included:

  • 8-oz red wine
  • a dozen raw baby carrots
  • a slice of whatever was handy, ham, deli turkey, hard salami
  • a dill pickle
  • a bit of lettuce with coleslaw dressing on it
  • handful of potato or tortilla chips
  • 5-10 pitted black olives

Turns out there’s not too much in the way of calories in this mix, and it’s enough bulk to fill one well enough you can get to sleep a while later.

And the magic?  Well, Ure’s not about to blow away in a strong wind any time soon, but it’s a pretty good option considering it’s more like grazing than cooking which is a nice change-up.

My grandson is a professional hockey player and swears by a daily ice bath (several minutes in a tub full of ice water). He talked about something called cold shock proteins but could never convince his grandpa to jump in.

So there is definitely something scientific about both heat shock and cold shock proteins and the additional fact of how exercise plays into it.

  3. ‘People Just Don’t Earn Enough To Buy These…’

That statement should be expanded. For ‘some reason’ people don’t have enough money to buy Western made EVs or Western made ICE cars for that matter. That’s the problem that needs to be solved.

Stellantis has the Citroen e-C3 SUV starting at over $25,000.

There’s a Chinese EV maker, BYD. These guys are the world’s top-seller of EVs. They offer the Seagull EV for under $10,000 and it comes with anti-lock brakes and six airbags.

India’s Tata Motors has several EV and ICE sub $10,000 vehicles w/airbags and anti-lock brakes.

    • Too many regulations! Period. A car needs to have a place to hold a person, or people, and preferably stuff too. It needs to go, stop, and steer. Amenities like lights, wipers, radio, heater and A/C are nice. That is all!

The package could be built for $5K new and weigh less than 1000 lbs with any reasonable powertrain. There are plenty of two seater airplanes that weigh that, or less. No need to move three tons down the road every time you want some munchies unless it’s a work truck. The only legitimate function of a computer on board is engine management. If you can’t shift for yourself, a TCM might be OK too. Having any processor run the entire car and requiring a CANBUS to monitor your taillights is ridiculous.

I am using some energy storage appliances, but I can bypass them easy enough. I only started carrying a cell phone when a former employer made it a condition of employment. My car has computer crapola, but a lot less than other models, and I am keeping up with my bicycle riding. I telecommute, but at the end of the day, all the computers get powered down, except maybe the firewall server.
Point being, computers and their software are extremely useful tools, but there are other ways to live without them. You must control their application, and not the other way around.

        • (“I only started carrying a cell phone when a former employer made it a condition of employment. “)

LOL LOL I remember when I started to carry one.. I was mottled and in so much pain it was horrible.. anyway I am a slight bit stubborn.. and was bound and determined to not be a total burden on anyone.. and would do my share.. I grabbed the garbage and was bound to take it to the trash bin outside.. in the middle of the night.. in a blizzard and way below zero with high winds.. I stepped wrong and the sheer pain sent me heading for the ground.. the whole way down all I could think of is.. don’t hit dog shit.. don’t hit dog shit.. landed and unable to get back up.. in the middle of the night.. in a raging blizzard and way below zero.. what do I do.. I can’t yell for help LOL LOL LOL so I crawled through the deep snow back to the house.. I now take a cell phone with LOL LOL LOL

      • The highway safety requirements for the US are NOT going to allow for a 1000# car to be built anymore (except glorified golf carts). Something that light just doesn’t have the ability to protect the occupants when hit by even an 8000# pickup truck, forget the larger stuff out there.

2000# is probably as light as you are going to be able to get today if they won’t change the safety standards. (checking around after I wrote that I found that the lightest weight car sold in the US today is a basic Mitsubishi Mirage which weighs in at 1973#)

I visited with a guy that bought one of these.. a few years ago.. at that time the cost with shipping was under seven thousand.. he loves it .. even has air conditioning.. like the dishwasher I bought for four hundred that was made in a country that the price of it retail was under five dollars.. they have a different cost of living.. they have to save to buy it.. we get it with plastic..
which has me curious.. since their cost of living is so much lower and the things they sell are so much cheaper.. what is the true comparison to the USA on what they are putting into military.. they put in was a third of what the USA is spending.. ( buying it all from them at a bigger cost.. like the empty cans I had gotten it was easier for them to send a palet of them for twelve dollars at the same shipping charges than it was to send just the one case I ordered.)

You need not be religious to find value in it. However, my ‘pineal gland’ seems already atrophied in order to make use of the new knowledge, and it’s not for the lack of trying to get a look behind the curtain ;-). May peace be with us.

    • The use of eastern mysticism (power within ones self developing self) with western mysticism (power outside binding into ones self) to promote buying (capitalism) audios frustrates my pineal gland causing calcification. Although there are benefits as outlined in the above video, and I’ve experience many of these through 50 years of mediations and study of many different sorts, to start using Biblical concepts and Jesus Christ, “to see His face,” to promote decalcifying a gland through listening to purchased audio I think devalues both topics of east/west thinking. I start my worker shift today in an LDS temple, which after six months since starting the shift, of weekly attending and working different areas, I have gained what this video ultimately postulates (almost), more than the 50 previous years of previous spiritual work and study. But it all comes into One, the 50 years and my current mind and external powers of entering into that gate. Meditation is great and powerful for its purpose, but external powers and binding covenants are where it’s at.

yet.. in hindu and buddism theology the pineal gland can be activated through meditation where satanic and pagan religions rooted in the belief that it should be removed and consumed to get the sacred oil. which is in my mind horse shit..

      https://www.arlingtoncenter.org/Sanskrit-English.pdf

I won’t get into this any deeper.. It disturbs me that people are willing to do harm to others and then use religious beliefs to do just that.. man wrote all the evil crap in the bible and the other manuscripts.. they inserted it to fit their narrative to what was taught to them to fit their goals for the communities they lived in.. to keep the old pagan rituals alive..
In Hinduism, it’s closely associated with the ability to see beyond the physical to the spiritual dimensions, embodying enlightenment and inner wisdom.
In Buddhism, the third eye helps transcend ordinary perception to access ultimate truths.
In Western spirituality, it symbolizes the fusion of mind, body, and spirit — reflecting a global yearning for deeper spiritual connection and understanding.
The theory is.. similar to the book of Hebrews..
“Hebrews 8:10: For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
I believe personally that god wrote his laws in everyones mind.. we all instantly know good and bad.. and when we are about to do something bad that little nagging voice says oh don’t do that it is bad.. on the same token when heavenly father says.. here look at this.. you can help takes one on the journey of enlightenment once seen you can never neglect it again… mankind mostly focusses on Self and puts those little voices of reason out of their mind to focus on self…. not the whole.. man is focused on getting more of what they idolize..

      https://youtu.be/UVZk0YkAkxw?si=T0MV5yiOk4hpgS1t

NOW… the lucid dream state…. got a question you cannot answer.. as you go to sleep you focus on that question.. relax and bring the question to the front.. breath out.. what is the answer to the question.. you will wake up with the answer.. this guy does exactly what we were taught in the military.. I was one of thirty seven guys that from different areas.. was to learn how to relax to push hours.. we would power rest twenty minutes every four hours.. then kept a record of our work.. anyway they did that for three months.. six weeks of classroom then three months practical every branch of the service.. didn’t really see a benefit of it.. and after three months it was over.. didn’t work.. when I got out of the service and real life hit me.. I used that in my egg timer work world.. ( still got the egg timer) but all in meditation.. no ritualistic mode of some ancient pagan religion..

There is No mention, No word GOD in the Torah or the Old Testament .

All mentions of the word god in Bible are translations by jewish “scholars” – like the 12 jewish “scholars” king james hired to write his version of bible..just like pharma companies pay for published research supporting their latest poisons/chemical compounds.
All the translations into god, come from the word Elohim (many El).
These were/ARE the “guys” that originated the practice. As Humans were an early and plentiful food source for the armies of Annuna warriors (annunaki on Urth).

At least they were till “Dinmah” (a darkStar) domesticated Swine, as a alt food/protien source for the armies of annuna…way back in days when the Tigris and Euphrates were being excavated..

just reading the old testament opens ones eyes to anything goes it was altered by man to fit their vision of what they wanted.
Christ said the most important law..
“Jesus what is the most important commandment , Jesus responded, “To love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind…The second is to love your neighbor as yourself.”

  5. “Palestine” is a ‘ghost state.’ It has no borders. A lion’s share of the nations opposing recognition of Palestine by the UN are Islamic states opposed to the existence of Israel. Others are historically in the same boat as Israel, to include the good old U.S. of A. How conveniently folks forget that European colonizers ‘invaded’ North and South America in search of fame and treasure. All of these two continents and their surrounding islands were the traditional ‘state’ for the many indigenous people living in the Western Hemisphere since the last Ice Age until their European overseers occupied their lands, aided by “Guns, Germs and Steel” (title of Jared Diamond’s Pulitzer Prize winning book on the topic). Recognize Palestine and the door opens for indigenous native Americans to make their ‘legally justified’ territorial claims. Most other non-Islamic nations opposing a Palestine also have their historically marginalized ghost states, to include the entire EU, the UK, Australia and Japan.

More likely it was partly a “defenses penetration test,” (See what gets through. Also called “lighting up defenses” to scope out coverage.

    And…

I’m told Isreals’ sorta lackluster “retaliation,” wsn’t really. It was partly a “demonstration of capabilities.” Of thier pin-point accuracy.

The “retalation” was NOT within the performance sugnature of Israel as shown in the past. It was not audacious or comprehensive. They pretended to dither as to a specific “when,” but holidays have not been allowed to be a definitive factor before.

So, this wasn’t “it,” they tell me.

    – The way I saw it was -a sworn state enemy launches an attack on your country – their response, when it came, would be massive. Precision strikes across all of Iran., for hours.
This feeble, constrained and measured response by Israel., kind of surprises me. I did not see a timid and limp-wrist effort coming.
    – I had it wrong. All wrong.
    .
It was fun watching the DJIA futures last night though. Just before I shut-down the station the Dow futures were up about 8 points – no big deal – boring opening market. Then it suddenly started to reverse.., in a matter of minutes the futures were down, at one point, 468 points. I figured that Israel just delivered it’s counter-punch. This morning the Dow open up 130 points, or so.., now up 168points.
    – Not even the money-boys have taken Israel’s retaliation very seriously.

    • I think the Israelis put enough ordinance close enough to the targets the Persians had declared off-limits to get their point across. Those weapons could have carried a payload with a much bigger bang, and a little targeting adjustment would have caused massive casualties. No point in having facilities if all the workers are permanently embedded in offsite green glass.
The Iranian response was a bit like a deer-in-the-headlights look; their bluff was called effectively, without a major escalation. As gun barrel diplomacy goes, it was quite well done, I think.

I believe the restraint is because of the fallout from going massive.. what I see is everyone is trying to get Iran ,Russia or China etc.. to make the first big move.. that would be a reason for sending in everything in retaliation.. which wrong is the most right.. with the region all having signed military agreements with Russia and china.. this could be ugly really quit.. I totally would not be surprised if Biden doesn’t win texas.. I just got done talking with a gent that comes to our home three times a week.. anyway he was telling me that a friend of theirs in NYC.. had her mother die.. she went out there to clear up her mothers estate and the house had been taken over by refugees squatting.. when she got upset at it they killed her supposedly in defense so nothing was done about it.. self defense over a squatter that took her mothers belongings and home…. who would have thought that could ever happen..
I believe that both sides are waiting for the other side to take the first step.. all the predictions on the middle east is that it will light up in israel.. but the real blow will be in the Balkans.. in the meantime.. I believe that they are sending in warriors posing as refugees.. and setting up the military to take out key positions around the country.. if the Obama Biden port deal in 2016 allowed them to sneak in some of the club K missile systems.. we totally could be chasing ghosts.. we don’t know who is where or what reason they are here for.. biden open borders.. them handing out pamplets saying vote biden.. and no one cares.. can’t do anything either way we lose.. the best we can see is a depression so bad that it dwarfs the weimar depression.. makes Zimbabwe look promising as a financial leader.

Do it about once a week.., should work at and plan on doing more often, though.
    Easy-prep fun dinner.
Aged blue cheese, aged cheddar., chunks of smoke gouda., several different type of meats., garlic stuff green olives and black ones., lots of different vegetables.., sometimes tortilla chips and our home-made salsa.., and a couple of glasses of red wine [ variety varies ]
    It is a great dinner.

It allows you to convey a manageable load of food to your mouth without utensils or containers. I’ve tried to think of other – non-wheat based and preferably non-bread based items that could be used to frame sandwiches. So far, no really good ideas. Getting fat and protein into our system without carbohydrate carriers and without preparation or containers/utensils is why bread has been so hard to replace. We need finger foods without carbs!

      • I’ve tried doing these things without great success. Hard boiled eggs are an option, but even those require prep. The key is to have something you can just grab and eat without spending a lot of time with it. Some of us have an absolute aversion to food prep. When I cook beans and veggies, they go into the pot and then I’m back to the PC or something else while it heats. Occasionally that makes for a real mess of a burned pot.

Celery is good. We need to make it the same thickness, but in sheets the size of bread. Perhaps there’s some kind of edible (non-caloric) glue that can process celery into a standard form factor.

I just wish celery had the same shelf life(unrefrigerated) as modern bread. Celery sheets would make nice sandwiches.

Unfortunately, lettuce is a bit too floppy. Perhaps it could be reinforced with celery in layers…..

Failing all that, I suppose the only option is a spoon and a jar of peanut butter.

        • Oh.. here is a tip.. pack the celery in distilled water in a jar…
the other way is two wash it.. then wrap it in aluminum foil.. this allows the gases to leave but keep moisture in..
          freeze it..
freeze dry it.. I dehydrate and freeze dry it..

  12. Kabuki Theater ….

The back and forth between Iran and Israel since the Israelis bombed the Iranian Embassy compound has been mostly a Kabuki Theater event … to take from the Urban Dictionary:

“…The phrases Kabuki theater, kabuki dance, or kabuki play are sometimes used in political discourse to describe an event characterized more by showmanship than by content…”

Last night’s strike by Israel was a perfect example of that type of Tit for Tat reply.

Now with that said as George mentioned in today’s column most of the Iranian strike on Israel was a big fireworks show that was intended to be stopped … except for two parts that were serious and meant to be serious.

1)_ The Iranians hit two Israeli intallatoins on the Golan Heights, one being the radar and communiations infrastruture that monitors and sees everything all the way to Damascus and beyond, the data from which the Israelis used to direct the attack on the Embassy … AND the Intelligence Control Center based nearby from which they directed the attack on the Iranian Embassy.

    2) The airbase that was hit by Ukrainian missiles was obviously intentionally chosen since it is the most protected space in the world wrt missile attacks. It has the most advanced radar and the most advanced intercept missiles that exist, items that the rest of the Iron Dome does NOT. 7 missiles were fired at it and 5 landed. If you note the runway damage from the two that hit the runway they both hit on exactly the center line and each was equidistant from each end of the runway.

The point of the Golan Heights attack (imo) , for which Israel embargoed the news but now indirecty admits that happened had a number of Israeli soldiers die and obviously was a direct reply to the Embassy Bombing. Those who worked there were those from directed the attack on the embassy and it was their equipment that was used to direct that attack (how badly those places were damaged and how many were killed the Israeli’s have not said)

The implied point of the airbase attack (from my view) was to demonstrate to Israel and the United States that the advanced Iranian missiles could now penetrate even the most protected airspace in the world and hit PRECISELY where they were aimed even with all electronic measures employed and all anti-missile batteries firing. It appears no deaths were intended to be caused by those missiles aimed at the airbase, they were aimed at concrete ramps and runways, not buildings (I am this has been causing panic in the Penagon this week) (yes they managed to stop 2 but 5 of the 7 still got through).

Kuboki Theater …. lots of flash but little substance from what the public saw over the last week including last night, except those two location hits by the Iranians which intended to convey very serious messages to Israel about doing more direct hits of substance directly on Iran.

(Iran and Israel’s proxy wars will continue, including Israel’s assassination campaign but those are different from direct attacks on each other’s soil which never happened until Israel attacked the Embassy)

    • I was not kidding when I stated Obama was running the show. Iran fired at Israel because they were honor-bound (not justified) to do so. (That “hallowed embassy grounds” was being used as a military base, not a diplomatic vehicle.) They did so where and when 44 told them to. He gave Israel the targeting data, which they shared with the UK and us. Israel then “responded” out of necessity (you know how the ME cultures work) but they did so on Mr. Obama’s cue, at targets which were preselected and with targeting data supplied to Iran.

It is a theater, designed to keep the lid on until after our election, yet satisfy the Muslim hoards and provide diplomatic wins (without substance) for both sides until Biden can be re-elected.

The real question is: “Why is Bebe playing along?” and I believe the answer is: “Tenuous U.S. support is better than none, and with the Americans (and UK) in-theatre and in reserve, the IDF has enough firepower that they might be able to duplicate 1973 (should they need to) without nuking anything.”

Unlike the blather here and elsewhere, where half the assembled readership secretly wishes and cheerleads for nuclear war for validation or entertainment purposes, shit like that is a real, genuine, day-to-day concern in the Middle East and the Israelis consider it something to be avoided at all costs short of their annihilation.

Once the Israelis have no hope other than themselves, they will loose hell on Earth. As long as peace is possible, they won’t.

If you really want to see a massive retaliatory strike by Israel, go out amongst the ignorant and help put Mr. Biden back in office…

Add a serving of sugar-free yogurt, or a serving of sugar-free Jello (or both) to Ure list. The Jello doesn’t have much nutrition, but the protein / $ of a small container of sugar-free Greek yogurt is impressive. There is a reason why they serve you Jello after surgeries besides cheapness. LOOB can debunk that statement, I wager.

Hmm.. I actually don’t think anyone has ever said it isn’t real.. it is real it is a cycle.. does man have an affect.. absolutely with eight billion little furnaces running around they most assuredly do .. but it isn’t all just man’s activities that causes it.. we blame coal and other fossel fuels.. as a leading source.. does the use of unfiltered exhausts have an affect.. absolutely.. but so does the urban expansion of what is it again fifty five acres a minute in urban expansion.. turning lush green crop lands into asphalt jungles.. it to has an effect..
a mall is easier to heat than cool the reason is the little furnaces running around at a hundred degrees F. Primitive societies for thousands of years have been using heating sources.. like the Ondol and in Rome that hypocaust systems.. today there is the rocket mass heater..
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocket_mass_heater
the exact same principle and with the rocket heater you not only get better heat but the burn chamber burns almost all of the exhaust gases..
We cannot change or stop global climate change all we can do is try to make the changes that will be needed a hundred years from now..
Even if we ended all use of carbon fuels.. ( I love coal.. it is one of my favorite its inexpensive and we have enough of it to sustain us) CO2 levels would continue to increase for several decades.. not because of the abrupt end of use.. but the overal picture.. with a waming ocean.. the sediment and the stored methane and CO2 would continue to rise..
      https://www.nature.com/articles/s41558-022-01372-y
not counting on the volcanoes erupting.. see picture the earth as a gumball or jawbreaker.. the sun is the microwave oven.. put either one of those in there for one minute.. what is what we have.. the sun is beating down on the earth.. even though we see the global temperature only going up a degree here and there.. the inner core is collecting that energy melting more materials deep within the earth.. so more volcanic action.. a slight wobble to the earth and the change in climates.. it is what destroyed the egyption and many other empires through time.. we cannot control it and taxing the people for carbon is just what is the word I am thinking would describe that.. Oh yeah… STUPID… embrace the technologies of the past.. and impliement change to eventually back those off.. for fifty years I have been ranting and raving.. we will spend billions and billions to keep the business model where it is.. instead of spending pennies in comparison to make the needed changes.. use earthcrete like the romans to build our road.. build solar towers that are many times cheaper and would produce jobs.. hand out solar grid tie systems similar to what some Scandinavian countries did because of space.. to any home owner willing to have them installed.. GREENSCAPE the cities.. good lord who cares if a kid picks an orange or pulls up a carrot or a mom picks some lettuce for a salad for her family.. you still keep the urban expansion but you also have the same crop land.. go up not out.. I would give my eye teeth to see what Taiwan and China has done in that respect.. they are eon’s ahead of us.. the old water gardens of china.. the hanging gardens of the hanging gardens of babylon.. this really tricks my trigger.. to.. and CO2 filters on every streetlamp in a major metropolitan city..
then instead of spending hundreds of billions of dollars to destroy a child playing with their dolls.. why not clean up that huge solar collector in the ocean bigger than the state of texas.. then reconverting that plastic into OIL.. all simple crap we can do that would cost us less than what everyone wants to do.. the business model..making the changes needed have to be able to fit into the framwork of affordability.. not taxability.. like the Waterschool
      https://www.waterschool.com/history
Set up to save millions of people.. dam I wished I had that as my legacy.. the only thing I can do is send it a few bucks a month to keep it going..
the changes don’t have to be a burden but a life changing event.. and cheaper to impliment.. the sad part of that is implimentation of the changes needed won’t until life is threatened or until the (zombie) MORON APPOCOLYPSE happens that wipes out the vast majority of mankind over their sheer stupidity

        Reply
        • planting a tree is great.. but mankind clear cuts about.. 41 million trees per day… where a CO2 filter on every lamp post.. a co2 filter would be equal to over a hundred trees per unit.. it would also create new products and new jobs.. a whole new bankrole to make.. putting up solar trees.. with picnic tables below would simulate sunflowers.. create energy.. Now with using clay dust..and charcoal as the filter medium..
to release the co2 heat the clay up then reuse it.. which I believe is one of the planets processes in the cycle of climate change.. as the earth heats it releases the co2 that is stored in the soil.. the moron..( I mean scientist.. ) that suggested spraying salt or other cloud whitening crystals into the upper atmosphere is wrong.. that will do the opposite in my mind thinking about this.. salt is a combination of acid and base..with these being sprayed into the atmosphere in the clouds.. who knows what it will mix with.. where spraying clay positively charged will not only filter the co2 as it decends but create lightning and rain that creates o3 through the ozone from the lightning..
I put it in the virgin earth challenge as a suggestion.. the filters on the lamp posts.. well with seven tree’s needed per person and fourteen per car.. maybe two co2 filters on every lamp post.. green scaping.. and securing the power grid.. build solar towers.. what between thirty and three hundred per cost of ONE wind turbine.. or hand out a grid tie solar power system to everyone that is willing to get it installed.. air wells in arid regions.. the broken record rant of mine.. LOL..

        • “planting a tree is great.. but mankind clear cuts about.. 41 million trees per day… where a CO2 filter on every lamp post.. a co2 filter would be equal to over a hundred trees per unit..”

So, you’d rather asphyxiate 41 million trees per day?

CO2 is not an issue, until its atmospheric level becomes low enough that every plant, and every animal or, above, or under Earth dies.

          Water,
          Oxygen,
          Oxides of sulfur, and
          Oxides of nitrogen,
in that order, are greenhouse gases.

          Carbon dioxide is not.

What carbon dioxide IS, is essential to carbon-based life.

So, by all means, we should sequester, eliminate, and if-possible, encapsulate vast quantities of it and send it into space, to eliminate it from Earth, completely. I absolutely guarantee that will eliminate 100% of all climate, greenhouse, weather, and population issues, and will also eliminate 100% of all mental disorders…

    • So, how are you on nuke plants?
Have you been without electricity or other fuels for an entire week of your adult life?
Windmills and solar panels won’t keep the house warm after dark. Storage technologies for that cost at least an order of magnitude more than any home owner can manage.
We give up nukes and fossil fuels, the forests will be extinct within a decade. Do you know the history of the devastation of old growth forests in this country in the 19th century?

This is probably generally true and certainly true for urban life. But in rural areas, the down escalator might lead only to 1900 or so –if they are not accessible from urban areas (i.e. a big “if”.)

In the 1960s I was in tropical Africa for two years and was working on clean water projects in the bush 3 weeks each month. Heat: not a problem. Food: no problem and it was not dependent on chemical fertilizers. Water was a major problem but wells provided a solution. In their absence, I used filters and butane to boil water. The locals often walked miles for clean water or drank bacteria and parasite infested water; infant mortality was high. Medical services were minimal and mainly focused on infectious diseases and parasites. A major expense for the locals was kerosene for lighting. But, all in all, the system was relatively stable.

The population of Ivory Coast was then about 5 milliion. Now it is 31 million. There was a civil war in the interim. In the 1960s somewhere below 30% of IC citizens had access to electricity and then only in cities; now at least 80% do and there’s a goal of generation of 42% from sustainable sources (mainly solar) by 2030.

I can envision a stable society without much energy or technology as long as birth rates are controlled. 1960s rural Ivory Coast could have gone for many years without electricity or oil, although eventually the inability to market hand-tilled crops and obtain clothing, hardware, and minimal medicines would likely have brought it down to pre-1900 levels. But with today’s population, the descent would likely be measurable in weeks and with a lot of violence.

        • Kerosene and butane require energy infrastructure and refineries. There aren’t many survivable locations which aren’t already populated and accessible. The early settlers moved across the continent in covered wagons. 200 miles with a garden cart filled with rations and ammo doesn’t seem so extreme. Draft animals will face extinction in a worst case implosion.

      • I am not in favor of nuke plants..
        several reasons..
High initial cost: Building nuclear power plants is expensive due to the complexity and safety measures required.
Nuclear accidents: Accidents like Chernobyl and Fukushima have highlighted the potential catastrophic consequences of nuclear accidents, including long-term health and environmental effects.
Radioactive waste: Nuclear power generates radioactive waste that remains hazardous for thousands of years, requiring safe disposal and storage solutions.
Risk of nuclear proliferation: The same technology used for peaceful purposes can be diverted for nuclear weapons, raising concerns about proliferation.
Limited uranium resources: While uranium is relatively abundant, the supply is finite, leading to concerns about long-term sustainability.
Water use: Nuclear power plants require large amounts of water for cooling, which can impact aquatic ecosystems and compete with other uses.
Public perception and safety concerns: Despite safety measures, public perception of nuclear power is often negative due to fears of accidents and radiation exposure.
Security risks: Nuclear facilities can be targets for terrorist attacks or sabotage, posing a risk to public safety and security.
Decommissioning challenges: Decommissioning old nuclear plants is complex and expensive, requiring long-term planning and resources.
Disruption of habitats: The construction and operation of nuclear plants can disrupt local habitats and wildlife.
We don’t know enough.. and yes I have been without power for way more than a week.. heck a little over a year ago we were out a week.. Texas almost took down the grid from a freak winter storm.. solar towers would act as ministries in a hard grid down scenario. way cheaper than those big wind turbines less environmental damaging potentials..handing out grid tie solar power would almost make the grid bulletproof. one area may go down but the remainder stays active..big wind and small wind.. small wind is cheaper thousands cheaper..you can install a small wind for about a grand.. when the big unit is down all the small are still working.
micro inverters compared to string.. with a string inverter ones down they are all down where with micro one goes down the rest remain working.
