***  All air passengers 2 years or older with a flight departing from a foreign country to the US at or after 12:01am EST (5:01am GMT) on December 6, 2021, are required show a negative COVID-19 viral test (PCR or Rapid antigen) result taken no more than 1 day before travel, or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 in the past 90 days, before they board their flight. Country-Specific Information

COVID-19 Testing

  • Are PCR and/or antigen tests available for U.S. citizens in Cayman Islands? Yes
  • If so, are test results reliably available within 72 hours? Yes
  • Please see information on how to obtain a COVID test in Cayman Islands on the Cayman Islands COVID portal. Costs of COVID tests are covered by the Cayman Islands government.

  • Humanitarian exemptions to this order will be granted on an extremely limited basis and will only be considered when the country of departure lacks adequate COVID-19 testing capacity. To submit information in support of an exemption, email KingstonCDCRequest@state.gov.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information

  • Has the government of the Cayman Islands approved a COVID-19 vaccine for use?  Yes
  • Are vaccines available in the Cayman Islands for U.S. citizens to receive? Yes
  • Which vaccines are available in the Cayman Islands? Pfizer/BioNTech

  • The U.S. government does not plan to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to private U.S. citizens overseas.  Please follow host country developments and guidelines for COVID-19 vaccination.

Entry & Exit Requirements

  • Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter? Some US Citizens are permitted to enter. From October 1, 2020 until further notice, travelers eligible to visit the Cayman Islands are:
    • Caymanians,
    • Permanent residents,
    • Work permit holders and their families,
    • Persons who own residential property within the Cayman Islands,
    • Students with a valid visa to study in the Cayman Islands,
    • Persons with close family ties to residents or work permit holders; such as spouses, fiancés, parents, grandparents, children and siblings.
    • Persons approved on the Global Citizen Concierge Program
    • Other visitors approved via the Travel Cayman team.

  • Are health screening procedures in place at airports and other ports of entry? Yes
    • Travelers returning from overseas must quarantine for 14 days.
    • At the end of the 14-day period all persons will be tested for COVID-19 and must receive a negative test result before they will be allowed to leave the facility.

Movement Restrictions:

  • Is a curfew in place? No
  • Are there restrictions on intercity or interstate travel? Yes
    • Visitors wishing to travel between islands must request travel authorization and may in some cases be subject to a COVID-19 test.

Quarantine Information:

  • Are U.S. citizens required to quarantine? Yes
    • All visitors are required to quarantine 14 days upon arrival.

COVID-19 Testing

  • Members of the public may book a health screening appointment, to include a COVID-19 test, via the Health Services Authority.

Fines for Non-Compliance

  • The Government of the Cayman Island may impose fines of $10,000 and imprisonment for two years.
