EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Two nationally-televised games against NFC East rival Dallas – one on a Monday night in MetLife Stadium, the other on Thanksgiving in Texas – an early three-game homestand and an October that includes trips to England, Florida and the West Coast highlight the Giants' 2022 schedule, released today.

Other notable nuggets from Brian Daboll's first season as head coach are five division games in the final seven weeks, including four in a row from Nov. 24 to Dec. 17 or 18, and playing three of their final four games as visitors, the last their first season finale on the road since 2016.

In the second season of the NFL's expansion to a 17-game schedule, the Giants will play nine home games for the first time since their inaugural season in 1925. They have played nine games in their home stadium six times when they were the visitors against the Jets and a game in 2005 that was moved from New Orleans to Giants Stadium because of Hurricane Katrina.

In 2022, the NFC East will play the NFC North and the AFC South. Because they finished fourth in the NFC East, the Giants will host the fourth-place team from the NFC South (the Carolina Panthers) and NFC North (the Baltimore Ravens) and visit the fourth-place team from the NFC West (the Seattle Seahawks).

Daboll will make his head coaching debut when the Giants visit the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 4:25 p.m. The Giants begin their season against an AFC opponent for the third consecutive season and the fourth time in five years and will open on the road for the first time since 2019, when their first game was in Dallas.

The Giants can then settle in for a three-week stay at home. They will play their MetLife Stadium opener in Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. That will be followed by the Monday night game against the Cowboys on Sept. 26 at 8:15 p.m. and a third straight game in MetLife Stadium vs. the Chicago Bears on Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. The Giants will play three consecutive home games for the first time since Nov. 6-20, 2016, when they defeated Philadelphia, Cincinnati and Chicago. As it is this year, the middle game then was on a Monday night and the final game of the homestand was against the Bears.

The rest of October will challenge the Giants with an arduous travelogue that will include three trips totaling 13,374 air miles.

The Giants will first fly to London to play their third game in the capital of the United Kingdom when they face the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Oct. 9 in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Packers will become the 32nd and last NFL team to play in London. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. eastern time. On Oct. 28, 2007, the Giants defeated the Miami Dolphins, 13-10, before 81,176 fans in Wembley Stadium in the first regular season NFL game played outside of North America. Nine years later – on Oct. 23, 2016 – the Giants edged the Los Angeles Rams, 17-10, in Twickenham Stadium.

The Giants elected not to take their bye the week following an international game and will return home to host the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m.

They then head back out on the road for two more games, facing the Jaguars in Jacksonville on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 1 p.m. and the Seahawks in Seattle on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 4:25 p.m.

After playing two games three weeks apart in cities separated by almost 5,000 miles – with another trip in-between - the Giants will have their bye in Week 9, which includes Sunday, Nov. 6.

The Giants return to the field with two games in MetLife Stadium, facing the Houston Texans on Sunday, Nov. 13, and the Detroit Lions on Nov. 20. Both games will be at 1 p.m.

Four days later, the Giants face the Cowboys in Dallas on Thanksgiving at 4:30 p.m., beginning a stretch of four straight games against their NFC East rivals.

They host the Washington Commanders on Sunday, Dec. 4, and the Philadelphia Eagles on Dec. 11, with both games scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Giants' final four games will include three road games, two against division foes in which dates and kickoff times will be announced later in the season.

On Saturday or Sunday, Dec. 17 or 18, they will visit the Commanders in FedExField. The Giants' final game in calendar year 2022 will be played on Saturday, Dec. 24 at 1 p.m. against the Vikings in Minnesota.

The Giants begin the new year by hosting the Indianapolis Colts in their final home game of the season on Sunday, Jan. 1, at 1 p.m.

The 17th and final game of the season will be played on Saturday or Sunday, Jan. 7 or 8, vs. the Eagles in Philadelphia.

Some highlights from the Giants' 2022 schedule:

*The Giants will play a franchise-record 17 regular-season games for just the third time in their 97-year history. They were 13-4 in 1930 and 4-13 in 2021.

*The Giants play six games against 2021 playoff teams: Dallas and Philadelphia twice each and once each against Green Bay and Tennessee.

*The Giants play four teams with new head coaches: Chicago (Matt Eberflus), Minnesota (Kevin O'Connell), Houston (Lovie Smith) and Jacksonville (Doug Pederson).

*The Giants play consecutive home games three times (Sept. 18-Oct. 2, Nov. 13-20 and Dec. 4-11) and consecutive road games twice (Oct 23-30 and Dec. 17 or 18 and Dec. 24).

*Eight of the Giants' nine home games are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. The exception is the Sept. 26 Monday night game against Dallas.

*The Giants will open the season on the road against an AFC opponent for the first time since 2001, when they lost in Denver, 31-20. Last year, they lost to the Broncos, 27-13. They also fell to Pittsburgh, 26-16, in 2020 and Jacksonville, 20-15, in 2018. All three of those games were in MetLife Stadium.

*The Giants will begin a season vs. the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans franchise for the first time since a 34-14 victory against the Oilers in Yankee Stadium on Sept. 16, 1973.

*The Week 3 Monday night contest vs. Dallas is the Giants' only currently scheduled night game. For the fourth consecutive season, the NFL's original schedule does not include a Sunday night game for the Giants. But their home game vs. Cleveland on Dec. 20, 2020 was flexed to Sunday night.

*The Giants face the Bears for the fifth consecutive season, the first time that's happened since 1939-43.

*The Giants host the Ravens on Oct. 16, their first home game vs. Baltimore since 2016 – which was also played on Oct. 16. The Giants won that contest, 27-23.

*The Giants are 7-5-3 on Thanksgiving but have played on the holiday just four times since 1938. They last played on Turkey Day on Nov. 23, 2017, a 20-10 defeat in Washington. They also lost in Denver in 2009 and Dallas in 1992. The Giants' most recent Thanksgiving Day victory was at Detroit on Nov. 25, 1982, a 13-6 triumph highlighted by Lawrence Taylor's fourth-quarter, 97-yard interception return touchdown.

The Giants first played on Thanksgiving in 1926, their second year of existence, when they defeated the Brooklyn Lions, 17-0. After a two-year hiatus, they played a Thanksgiving Day game every season from 1929-38. They did not play again on Thanksgiving until 1982.

*The Giants have lost their last six games played on Thursday, when they are 15-13-3 overall. Their last Thursday victory was on Sept. 24, 2015 (32-21 vs. Washington). The Giants most recently won a Thursday road game on Sept. 25, 2014, a 45-14 triumph in Washington.

*The Giants ended their season at home in each of the previous five and 10 of the last 11 seasons. They were 1-4 in their most recent stretch, beating Dallas in 2020. The Giants last played their season finale as visitors on Jan. 1, 2017, a 19-10 triumph in Washington. They last ended their season vs. the Eagles in 2019 (a 34-17 loss) and last concluded a campaign in Philadelphia in 1998 (a 20-10 victory).

*This season, "flexible scheduling" for Sunday night may be used twice between Weeks 5-10, and during Weeks 11-15 and Week 17. In weeks of the season eligible for "flexible scheduling," the games listed for the Sunday night window are tentative and subject to change. Only Sunday afternoon games are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, in which case the tentatively scheduled Sunday night game would be moved to a Sunday afternoon.

Flexible scheduling will not be applied to games airing on Thursday or Monday nights.

In Week 15, three of five designated matchups will be played on Saturday with the remainder to be played on Sunday. Specific dates and start times for the designated Week 15 matchups will be determined and announced at a later date during the season.

In Week 18, two games will be played on Saturday (4:30 PM ET and 8:15 PM ET) with the remainder to be played on Sunday afternoon (1:00 PM ET and 4:25 PM ET) and one matchup to be played on Sunday night (8:20 PM ET). Specific dates, start times, and networks for Week 18 matchups will be determined and announced following the conclusion of Week 17.

*The Giants' preseason opponents were also revealed today. Since the increase in regular season games to 17, each team plays three preseason games. The Giants' preseason foes (dates and times will be announced in the future):

• Week 1 at New England
• Week 2 vs. Cincinnati
• Week 3 at the Jets

The Giants and Patriots will meet in the preseason opener for the first time since 2003. The teams faced each other in the final preseason game in 15 consecutive summers from 2005-19. They did so again last year, when the Patriots won in MetLife Stadium, 22-20. The Giants lead the preseason series, 20-11. The two teams first met in the preseason in 1971.

The Giants are 37-31-3 in preseason openers since 1950

The Giants and Bengals will meet in the preseason for the first time since a 25-23 Giants victory in Cincinnati on Aug. 22, 2019. This will be their first preseason meeting in MetLife Stadium. The Giants lead the preseason series, 4-1.

The Giants faced the Jets in 51 consecutive summers (1969-2019) before the NFL canceled the 2020 preseason due to the pandemic. When they resumed last year, the Jets ended the Giants' four-game winning streak in the series with a 12-7 victory to take a 26-25-1 lead. The tie was in 1972.

The teams have split their last two meetings after each had five-game winning streaks in the series. The Giants won their first five games against the franchise that played in Houston prior to 1997 and was known as the Oilers prior to 1999. Those games were played between 1973 and 1994. The Oilers/Titans won the next five games. The Giants broke that streak on Dec. 7, 2014, when they routed the Titans in Nashville, 36-7. Andre Williams rushed for 131 yards, including a 50-yard touchdown, Eli Manning threw a touchdown pass to Odell Beckham, Jr., and Josh Brown kicked five field goals. The Giants didn't fare as well in their most recent meeting. On Dec. 16, 2018, they lost in MetLife Stadium, 17-0, their most recent shutout defeat. Derrick Henry rushed for 170 yards and two touchdowns.

The Giants host the Panthers for the second straight season. On Oct. 24, 2021, the defense limited Carolina to 173 yards and 11 first downs in a 25-3 Giants victory. Graham Gano kicked three field goals against his former team. The victory ended the Giants' three-game losing streak in the series after Carolina victories in 2013, 2015 and 2018. The second of those games was in MetLife Stadium. The Giants last defeated Carolina on Sept. 20, 2012, a 36-7 triumph on a Thursday night in Charlotte. Their most important victory in the series was a 34-28 overtime triumph in Giants Stadium on Dec. 21, 2008, when the Giants clinched home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs. In that game, the Giants rushed for 301 yards, the fifth-highest total in franchise history.

Dallas swept the season series in 2021 for the fourth time in five seasons and has won nine of the last 10 games between the teams. On Oct. 10 in AT&T Stadium, the Cowboys recorded the highest point total by a Giants opponent last season in a 44-20 victory. Dak Prescott threw for 302 yards and three touchdowns and Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 101 yards and one score. The Giants were held to a pair of field goals in a 20-6 home loss on Dec. 19. The Giants have swept the season series 13 times, while Dallas has 24 series sweeps. The Giants are 20-39-1 in Dallas (5-8 in AT&T Stadium), while the Cowboys are 6-6 vs. the Giants in MetLife Stadium.

Chicago Bears

The Giants and Bears face each other for the fifth consecutive season and for the first time in MetLife Stadium since 2018. Chicago won in each of the last three seasons in Soldier Field, but the Giants won the three most recent meetings in MetLife Stadium, in 2010, 2016 and 2018. The teams last met on Jan. 2, when the Bears cruised to a 29-3 victory. Saquon Barkley accounted for 102 of the Giants' 161 rushing yards, but the Giants finished with minus-6 net passing yards. This rivalry dates to the Giants' inaugural season in 1925, making this their oldest active series (the Giants' first-ever road victory was in Chicago on Dec. 13, 1925).

The Giants return to London for the first time in six years and the third time overall to face a Packers team making its debut in England. The Packers have won the last three games in the series, including a 2016 NFC Wild Card Game. On Dec. 1, 2019, Aaron Rodgers threw two of his four touchdown passes in the fourth quarter and Green Bay pulled away for a 31-13 victory in MetLife Stadium. The teams met twice in 2016, both in Lambeau Field. Green Bay won a Sunday night game in the regular season, 23-16, and triumphed again in the postseason game, 38-13. Since 2007, the teams have met three times in the postseason, all in Green Bay, with the Giants winning the first two, including the 2007 NFC Championship Game. In the 54 regular-season games played between the teams, the Packers have outscored the Giants, 977-953.

The teams have split the last four games in the series after the Ravens won the first three, including Super Bowl XXXV. The teams last met on Dec. 27, 2020, when Baltimore jumped out to a 17-point halftime lead and maintained its advantage throughout a 27-13 victory in M&T Bank Stadium. The Ravens rushed for 249 yards, including 80 by quarterback Lamar Jackson. The Giants last hosted the Ravens on Oct. 16, 2016, when Eli Manning threw a 66-yard touchdown pass to Odell Beckham, Jr. with 1:24 remaining to give the Giants a 27-23 victory.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Series Record: Regular season -- Giants trail, 4-3

This will be the first Giants-Jaguars game in which Tom Coughlin is not associated with one of the teams. Coughlin coached the expansion Jaguars from 1994-2002, and the Giants from 2004-15. He was Jacksonville's vice president of football operations when the teams last met on Sept. 9, 2018. Saquon Barkley scored on a 68-yard run and rushed for 106 yards in his NFL debut, but the Giants lost in MetLife Stadium, 20-15. The teams' last meeting in Jacksonville was one of the most disappointing defeats of the Coughlin era. On Nov. 30, 2014, the Giants raced to a 21-3 halftime lead, but fell, 25-24, when Josh Scobee kicked a 43-yard field goal with 28 seconds remaining in the game. The Giants' three victories in the series have been by a total of 14 points.

For the second time in three seasons, the Giants will play in Seattle, where they broke a four-game losing streak in the series with a 17-12 victory on Dec. 6, 2020. It was the Giants' first triumph against the Seahawks since 2010. The Giants are 4-5 in Seattle, including 2-3 since Lumen Field opened in 2002. Although the Giants hold just a one-game edge in the series, they have outscored the Seahawks in 19 meetings by 59 points (415-356)

On Sept. 23, 2018, the Giants defeated the Texans in Houston, 27-22, for their first victory of the season as Eli Manning threw for 297 yards and two touchdowns and rookie Saquon Barkley ran for a third. The teams' most recent game in MetLife Stadium was on Sept. 21, 2014, when the Giants won, 30-17 – also the season's initial triumph - as Manning threw for 234 yards and two scores. Houston's lone victory in the series was a 16-14 decision on Nov. 24, 2002.

The Giants and Lions will meet for the first time since 2019 and in MetLife Stadium for the first time since 2017. Detroit has won the last two and three of the last four games in the series. On Oct. 27, 2019, the Giants fell behind by 14 points in the first quarter and never led in a 31-26 loss in Ford Field. Their most recent meeting in New Jersey was a 24-10 Lions victory on Sept. 18, 2017. Detroit's second-year head coach is Dan Campbell, a former tight end who played four seasons for the Giants after his selection in the third round of the 1999 NFL Draft.

Washington last year swept the season series for the first time since 2011. In a Thursday night game on Sept. 16, Dustin Hopkins kicked a 43-yard field goal as time expired to give Washington a 30-29 victory in FedExField. Taylor Heinicke threw for 336 yards and two touchdowns. Heinicke was held to 120 yards in the Jan. 9 rematch, but Washington rushed for 226 yards in a 22-7 victory in MetLife Stadium. With both Daniel Jones and Mike Glennon injured, Jake Fromm made his second start at quarterback and threw for 103 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown to Darius Slayton. The Giants have faced Washington 178 times in the regular season since their first game in 1932, making this their most frequently contested rivalry. They are 8-4 vs. Washington in MetLife Stadium and 14-10-1 in FedExField. The Giants have swept the season series 34 times.

Four weeks later, quarterback Jake Fromm made his first NFL start at quarterback. The teams were tied at halftime, 3-3, but the Eagles scored 31 consecutive points on their way to a 34-10 triumph. The Giants are 4-8 against the Eagles in MetLife Stadium (plus 0-1 in the postseason). They have lost their last eight games in Lincoln Financial Field, where they are 6-13 in the regular season and 0-1 in postseason play.

Minnesota won the last three games in the series, including the only previous meeting in U.S. Bank Stadium. On Oct. 6, 2019, the Vikings gained 490 yards and Daniel Jones suffered his first defeat as an NFL starter in a 28-10 loss in MetLife Stadium. The Vikings won their last two home games in the series, played in different venues in Minneapolis less than 10 months apart – 49-17 in TCF Bank Stadium on the University of Minnesota campus on Dec. 27, 2015, and 24-10 in U.S. Bank Stadium on Oct. 3, 2016. The Giants last defeated the Vikings, 23-7, on Oct. 21, 2013 in MetLife Stadium.

Indianapolis Colts

Series Record: Regular season -- Giants trail, 10-6; Postseason -- Giants trail, 2-0

The Colts have won four consecutive games in the series. The most recent meeting was on Dec. 23, 2018, when the Giants failed to capitalize on an early 14-point lead and lost in Indianapolis, 28-27. Andrew Luck threw a one-yard touchdown pass to Chester Rogers with 55 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. That completed a 21-10 second-half surge by the Colts, who trailed by 10 points at halftime. The teams last squared off in MetLife Stadium on Monday night, Nov. 3, 2014, when Luck threw four touchdown passes in the Colts' 40-24 victory. The Giants last won in the series on Dec. 22, 2002, when they defeated the Colts, 44-27, in Indianapolis.
